Quick is done. LA wasn’t as bad as the score suggests. Edler’s screen on that 2nd goal was crap. Great, keep Sutter fat and happy until they can find him a new home! There were so many bounces and puck luck that went our way last night that it’s hard to remember the holes in the game, like chemistry and unfinished checks. An awful team like LA was right there with the Canucks. The difference was Marky and the awful game by Quick. Kinda glad he was left in for all of those. A bit of karma. QH is a QB. The puck is always moving forward when he gets it. Love his transition game so far. Benn is going to be a playoff monster.

Iginla and Sundin were great captains of teams that never won anything, like Linden.

Jake and OJ are why JB had to spend his way into contention this year. Contention might be a strong word, perhaps I should use, spine.

This thread reads like a Support Group therapy session. Relax. The team is going to find chemistry. Be glad they are doing it out on the road and not during a Captaincy night thingy. All will be well. Stop your whining.

Doesn’t anyone know what drove the wages down, hmmm, about 25 years ago, in the first place? Disgusting. But say anything, bam, you’re a racist. The very group of people who drove wages into the dirt by installing toilets in the floors of their trucks, etc, etc are now whining about the effects of their having monopolized and rigged the game?

Ok, 61 points then, I should have been exact. Good catch. I was trying to make the point that I think Horvat has found his ceiling as far as points or talents go. 60-65 points is fine by me. I also noted that he hasn’t been Captain Clutch like Toews, who has similar numbers. Horvat’s contract is spot on, IMO. A Rod Brind’Amour clone would be sweet too.

The offering of your ass to your opponent or the turn into the boards like that, especially against a 240lb hitter is stupid, but common. The Sedins turned it into a career. -
Injuries are coming. Get the points while we can! It might be a slow start here with all the new and bigger bodies, both are reasons early success might not come.

You know, at first, I was thrilled with our PP when he came back, but since about a month after that it’s been crap... but... for several of those years the Canucks had old Sedins and next to no talent to execute with, so I gave him a free pass. I will extend the same courtesy to him to a newly assembled top 6 still shaking off the rust. I’d go as far as the Christmas break with this, but no more.

I agree that BB was pretty rusty in Edmonton and had a rough night. Last year when he wasn’t producing he was similar, minus the motor, which is strange to say, to Loui; he was ineffective in many situations. So I agree with your assessments of BB. I’d consider trading him, as I would any Canuck not named EP, including JV. (Kind of late to go after Brady Tkachuk now, isn’t it guys...) Brett Hull and Bossy could be Hull and Bossy because they scored. I’m curious to see if BB can stay healthy enough to even show us what kind of player his beyond the Prince Charming character-bonus points he’s seemingly propped up with, unlike the other players. I like BB as much as the next fan, but I’m not convinced that he’s core or playoff material yet. It’s going to be a great season to observe and assess players like Brock and Quinn and the chemistry the players find to work with. Man, another season of that clumsy, boring PP zone-entry is going to take some stamina though. I could do without that.
