Send him to Edmonton or the Leafs, please. -
I’d bet on EP playing less than 60 games.

Thanks Aquaman. Thanks for letting JB buy a rugged team with your lunch money. when you could have been cheap all this time, you weren’t. Thank you.- 87 replies

I proposed a playful trade suggestion last winter, knowing full-well that I was in a homer forum, of Horvat for Brady Tkachuk. Of course I was absolutely hammered for it. If there ever was a playoff warrior hero type, it’s a Tkachuk kid, no doubt about it, especially Brady. That trade was laughed out of the forums, but it’s going to be quite evident why I made it very soon, which is nothing against Horvat either, just my projections for this kid and how I’m fairly certain that Horvat plus a few things wouldn’t get him today and that’s not going to change.

The athletic projects the Canucks 26th overall?
189lb enforcers? replied to cuporbust's topic in Canucks Talk
A bit low, sure. ... but if EP gets injured.... 26th is a very likely destination. The teams’ chances Rest on that one kid. Also, who cares about this prediction? Really cares? If you do, there’s professional help for that. -
I admit, I was worried he was going to touch EP and QH. He didn’t even put much of a stick on them, but that stuff is coming. Speaking of which, EP still looks like he’s a skinnier version of Wayne Gretzky, bouncing off of everything and everybody. What did he weigh in at this year? He looks so slight and that still worries me. QH will carry the puck doing laps in the offensive end, right up until he gets a shove or cleanly and squarely destroyed rounding the net. He looks like a pee wee out there, but an absolute thrill to watch. Again, I worry he’s going to fly off into the boards, bouncing off a stick check or something. He’s tiny. I can’t wait for a 3-3 situation to watch EP and QH work their magic, presumably with BB. Once the rust gets shaken off, this team will dismantle the Coilers, it won’t even be close until Jesus Saves them with a goal here and there.

For all of us who still route for Kassian... Good to see him working and being effective in a gravy role with the big guns. I’ll always cheer for this guy. Heart and soul guy.

At least in the NHL games i’ve watched, the players are talking, mingling, smiling with their opponents. Their all buds it seems. They’re just at work, not in a war. I think this is what’s changed the most about the game and even the Canucks. I still think the team needs a Reeves more than a rat terrier, in Rousell, etc though. I miss the Cold War of hate and rivalry as much as I do the Enforcer role. Even the role of hitting, those legendary hitters, has been almost divorced from the game. Toughness is going extinct.

Meh... deployment and age. We can agree to disagree. Horvat, sorry, not a super star - barely a star, is his ceiling, one which is already here. He’s a 200’ 30-30 guy, but not a captain clutch Toews. I disagree about EP’s trajectory. He is the next Sundin, a captain, maybe instead a Crosby- a kid captain, which was a choice made for good reason. He’s no second fiddle leader, IMO. Horvat will be named captain for a sexy 50th.

This is as close to a playoff roster I can recall this team building from scratch. Getting there is the hard part, but once they’re in, look out. -
Unless there is toughness in the top 6 or top 4, it doesn’t have much impact on the game, especially when it’s most needed. To JB’s credit, he’s finally sorted this out, or as close to it as he could in todays’ NHL.

Playoff hockey is not Sven hockey. Good decision.
