Love Bo as a choice, but EP, though young, is already a challenger. In another year, I don’t think it will be a question of who is the team’s leader, if it’s not already apparent. The 50-year party and the fans desire to finally have a captain on this team are likely why a decision would be made this year. I’m not in the room, but I think it’s a tough call not to wait on EP to give the 50-year season a captain. It won’t be a mistake, not at all. Bo is awesome. I just think EP is naturally the team’s heart.

Speculation - Byfuglien contemplating retirement
189lb enforcers? replied to skategal's topic in General Hockey Discussion
Who knows what things he’s dealing with which are preventing him from reporting. You know when a hockey player of that ilk is missing camp, there’s a reason. To a player, hockey is life and a rhythm they still can’t shake post-retirement. If his issues involve a lack of motivation to report because his team imploded, I get that, but that would show poor character. I can only assume this isn’t the case. Must be tough to be loaded and yet still have to do the work a player has to put in ahead of camp. (I know I’d have an island full of amazon goddesses to visit during the summer months and might be late for camp if I were him) Good luck to Big Buf and the miserable Winterpeg fans. -
I’ve seen pike in the Mackenzie that were almost as long as my boat and there were several like that where Great Slave lake ends. My wife has caught bigger fish than almost anybody, sturgeon excluded, which was a selling point back in our dating era. I’ve been afraid they’d tip my canoe on the Horn River up there. &^@#ing scary. I’m talking 6’ and bigger. I can’t swim up there anymore after seeing that. You want to catch fish or impress Youtube, go there and film it. Guitar, yard work, muscle cars, motorbikes, PWC exploring, rock hounding, fishing, fishing, fishing, hockey, collecting arrow heads, fires... I want to do 3D epoxy floors in my house somewhere and I’d like to learn more about what our land was like prior to the last ice age. Mainly, since I quit drinking, my hobbies are being entertained by my kids and my yard, though I still get out into the hills to do boy stuff.

Thanks Hippy. I don’t want to vote for either man, but I think the Lib party wants to spend way too many of our resources on showing how inclusive they are, no matter the cost to the tax payer and regardless of whether or not we approve. Is there any good reason to think Scheer can lead a country, especially following a drama teacher’s dismal showing at the world stage? I defer to those invested in the race. My contempt for JT knows no limits, I admit.

We needed that pick to be a winner. It was the first of what was supposed to be a rebuild era. The fortune of that pick had an impact on everything since, IMO, and hence all the negativity surrounding his name.

He didn’t just say he was wrong, he tagged his privilege, assumably his very ancestry, to his apology, or possibly his wealth? In either sense, it was a crafted apology which should need no introduction, but he gets let off by racist Don Lemonhead because he tagged his “privilege” into it, and by proxy, the white man. Politics, eh?! Virtue Signalling Champion of the World. I truly despise this clown.

You’ve said yourself the our Right won’t make an effort to allow more women into their ranks. The Left, well they will show that party of white men, won’t they! That’s the whole dynamic and not sure where the fuzzy borders are on that point. I’m reducing things because in a paragraph, that’s all I can manage because I’m not all that smart and I don’t spend much time writing down responses to being quoted, for better or worse, mostly worse. The Right in the has been the existing white man and those systems and values. The Left has been anything-but for the white man. If I’m wrong about that, then I’m sure others will let me know...

Does it? It should. I asked an honest question and I think it’s a question framing our era. You may not like the question or my insinuating your penchant for the rigging of things via equality of outcome politics, but I’m genuine in my asking you for a perspective on things. You know much more about most of this than I do. JT is such a disaster and possibly the worst Canadian representative or ambassador for of the majority in Canada that I hope Canadians learn to vote for the army and not the General they fancy. His painted face means sweet f-all to me and likely to any serious person. If this pathetically subservient sellout is now the image of racism, let that speak for itself. This is what the Left gave us, not the right. This is the distraction we face instead of actual issues. How sad and pathetic that this is news. Would I blame the Right for playing the game and rallying the ball back to him? Ha No. The juice is worth the squeeze to get this limp biscuit away from our flag. Holding a mirror up to the vicarious, surrogate-outrage, condescension and patronizing the Left has been overly engaged in for years now has been epic hilarity. I think most have had a good chuckle - at least one/some of the hate-fact memes. Is the Right into virtue signalling? I’d say it’s not even close as far as that behaviour goes. The Right demanding protection for the majority and the freedoms and values they built the country with, have their issues. Strangely, they may have more in common with China and Islam, major migrant imports actually, than the Left does, when it comes down to preservation of core values. I find that a strange one.

Women are 50% of the population, but that doesn’t make them the best choice for politics, nor does it represent their interests any better than a JT, as demonstrated by the Feminist man. I’d go so far as to say the ladies of Canada have been very, very well represented in politics, with one big issue remaining as being weather or not they have the right to cut a baby-mistake from their guts. I know, the rape and medical outliers must be empathetically included, but those dates with Edward Scissor Hands are not the average abortion, are they, so let’s just skip the pretence of the abortion demand’s entire premise as being a women’s health issue. I add this in only to underscore the very few remaining political issues the poor women of the West, especially oppressive Canada, suffer. We treat our ladies very well, as our fathers taught us, most of them married men in our homes. On the surface, it appears you are a supporter of the modern Liberal mandate to administer a fixed equality of outcome. A gender balancing act will be exactly that if the candidate Pool isn’t 50% women because you’d have to fix the game to ensure the outcome you’ve suggested. I’d rather support the equality of opportunity method instead of fixing the game, so-to-speak. Open question: When will there be enough “diversity” here that will see an end to identity politics and the insurance provided by equality of outcome political practices, even by our employers? Is it when there are less white men in whichever group dynamic is being established? Is that when we are sufficiently diverse? Interesting. Will there be a Liberal party once that happens; a need for one? (I ask on on behalf of my own ignorance. As I understand things, and not to use too much space up crafting a carefully articulated question either, the West and Canada are too while male, according to the Left, which is associated with Liberal beliefs, correct? Once we have a majority non-white man everything in the West, what interests will the Liberal ideals serve? I don’t see a Liberal idealism in Japan, China, Saudi Arabia, etc, just in the oppressive white mans’ privileged lands, as said by our fearless leader, JT. Once the Liberal party dismantles the evil empire of the glorious West, who would they then represent?)

I’d say he was a decent 35-40-point c/winger, without Crosby. Nothing wrong with McCann as a utility player with upside. Nothing wrong with our 6th OA version of that too, but I think Jake’s hockey IQ is quite low, like Sestito-low. I wouldn't bother making the trade, but also wouldn’t be fussed if we did either. Jake is a non factor at this stage. All he has to do is prove he isn’t and become a playoff warrior type and he will be here for life.
-
Would anyone trade Jake for McCann?

Awesome... haha
