Read the replies to your post in the GDT, if you were actually watching the game, you'd have seen his nasty no look pass for Stechers goal

[GDT] Kings @ Canucks 7pm Oct 9th 2019 - Home Opener/Captain's Edition
Whorvat replied to xereau's topic in Canucks Talk
Coincidentally, that 45 seconds is also more time in the show than you'll ever see. -
I don't know about others but I feel like he's ready at the exact time we thought he would be, since coming out of college. He's 23 next week, so you expected him to not be ready until 25/26? I have said this previously, but there is zero chance I move him for a non-top 10 1st
-
Except he's one of the larger players on the ice ...and is always in the mix for puck possession. Nice try troll.
-
I'm not a Loui hater by any means, but this is just flat out delusional. Much akin to your undying love for Dahlen and how he was terribly mistreated by the Canucks organization

[Signing] Lightning re-sign Brayden Point
Whorvat replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
It looks better and makes more sense when you exclude ELC's... Boeser+Horvat = less than Matthews -
He is not making the team out of camp, he will go to Utica and get big minutes there. Likely one of the first injury call ups
-
Thats it? A drop in the bucket for them

[Discussion] 2019 Canucks Developmental Camp
Whorvat replied to VancouverHabitant's topic in Prospects / Farm Team
I think I'd rather continue on with the charade of him being part of the team, than firing him prior to the draft with extensive knowledge on our draft strategy lol -
While fun to do, something tells me its a little inaccurate lol .. Bowen Byram at 10th Spencer Knight at 40th Tobias Bjornfot at 71st

Kind of cool TSN has the NHL comparables for Turcotte/Zegras as Horvat/Pettersson https://www.tsn.ca/alex-turcotte-centre-1.1301957 https://www.tsn.ca/trevor-zegras-centre-1.1301953 As a side note, Caufield comparable is Lionel Messi https://www.tsn.ca/cole-caufield-right-wing-1.1301981

He has a real knack for doing well on big ice.. when it comes time for heavier traffic and bodies everywhere, he disappears time and time again. He is the prototypical large ice player.

[Rumor] Panarin Interested in Vancouver
Whorvat replied to SuitnTie's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Again, way to speak in absolutes on something you really have no actual insider insight into. Nobody is saying the chance is high that he signs here, but there is more than zero chance, like you are stating. There is a chance he signs in Vancouver. Like any other team that has cap space, is looking for a top 6 LW, and has players Panarin may want to play with. Being the all-knowing of all things NHL/Canucks, I know you feel as if your opinion is fact, so carry on. -
[Rumor] Panarin Interested in Vancouver
Whorvat replied to SuitnTie's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Love how you can speak in absolutes. Vancouver has the cap space to sign him, are specifically looking for a top 6 LW, and the allure of playing with Pettersson exists Maybe completely ridiculous to a Jets fan -
If JB has any idea that Panarin had even the slightest interest signing in Vancouver, a 3rd is well worth the try to have that additional time to negotiate with the player. As well as being able to offer the player that elusive 8th year on the contract. Essentially gives Vancouver or any team that acquires his rights the chance to offer 10m more than the rest. Maybe even brings the average cap hit down 500k. I know JB killed it with his last 3rd round pick (Madden), but this is a risk I would be willing to take to acquire an elite LW

[Discussion] The perils of Off Season Trading
Whorvat replied to J.I.A.H.N's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
I really hope you're joking ..but this is CDC after all. Zaitsev has negative value, why would we trade someone with positive value AND add?? -
I would have no qualms if JB picked Seider at 10. I know several posters around here would harp on JB for not trading down, but if your guy is there where you're picking, you take him. Who cares if you think you can squeeze an extra pick out of someone to drop down a few spots. I remember quite a few people around here who were chapped we didn't trade down in the EP draft. Imagine us trading 5 for 6 and a 2nd/3rd (guesstimate) and then NYR, who had just traded up to 7 decides to hop from 7 to 5 and grab EP. JB and his teams draft record speaks for itself, so if they feel he is the BPA we take Seider and run. And by all accounts Seider looks like the real deal I'm excited to see who we pick this year, can't remember a draft being this wide open from 3-20

[Rumour] Maple Leafs shopping Nikita Zaitsev
Whorvat replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Oh look, Toronto using the media to market their players again Had this been Vancouver looking to offload this player/contract you can be sure the headline would read something along the lines of; 'How much is Vancouver willing to pay to rid themselves of Zaitsev?'
