  1. Yeah, that's why I went with early flowering strains.
  2. I agree. He had some nice moves with the puck and beat a few guys, but it never went past that. There wasn't a lot of vision to find the open man or open up the ice demonstrated. A few big gaffes in his own end as well. I think you and I see the same game. I'm not sure what some of them are watching, or if they are just looking at the stat sheet or maybe a few highlights. Podz did more than either of his line mates tonight, which wasn't very hard. Miller and Garland were not very effective overall. Podz worked hard on the boards, made a couple of smart passes and positioned himself well for the one timer. I agree that OJ had a pretty solid game tonight as well.
  3. I had a number of thoughts throughout this game: 1. Although not flawless, OJ played a pretty solid game in both ends. 2. Zac Mac was flying from time to time and made some good plays. It'll be nice to see how this translates when he has a proper NHL roster on the ice with him. 3. Podkolzin looked pretty decent. He battled hard, made some nice plays and set himself up pretty well in front of the net for a one timer - not sure if the pass was a little off or he just misfired on that. 4. A lot of these guys made a case for the AHL tonight *cough* Highmore *cough*. I guess everyone has a bad game though and it's much harder to have a good game when most of the guys on the ice are not NHL regulars and are probably holding the stick a bit too tight. Even Miller and Hoglander didn't look that good tonight. 5. Calgary played a very strong fore-checking system and maintained some good sustained pressure with it. Coaching staff needs to have plans to deal with that. In the end, it's just a pre-season game and most of these guys won't be with us on opening night.
  4. I just checked it and it was ok to place a bet on Vancouver.
  5. The guys announcing the game were doing their job tonight - trying to hype a brand new franchise for it's home market. Kraken fielded pretty much their expected starting roster, the Canucks fielded mostly their AHL team. The result was pretty much what you'd expect: - the Canucks were heavily outshot during the game. Strong goal tending by Silovs prevented it from being a route. - the Canucks struggled to come up with shots but got a decent number of quality chances compared to their overall shots on goal and capitalised on their chances. Some of the players not expected to be on the roster played quite well tonight. Silovs, Hunt, Klimovich, di Giusseppe and a couple of others had solid games. If we could make a single player out of the best parts of Rathbone and Juolevi, we'd have a star. Interesting game to watch, can't wait for season to start.
  6. He's skilled but makes some moderately high risk plays - but succeeds so far.
  7. Or he has played extensively in the past and knows what to look for. I happen to agree with Stawns. OJ took a bad penalty at the end of the period but was quietly efficient and effective the rest of the period.
  8. If you extend flowering time you get more couch lock and less energetic stones. More ambertrichomes.
  9. Get a DaVinci. Last a long time, replaceable rechargeable batteries, controllable temps. The only downside is it's so efficient that I'll never use my stockpile o weed.
  10. As we can see from the barren wasteland that we now roam in search of our next tank of gas, legalising weed did result in the end of the world.
  11. The Maroc worked out great and harvested mid-Sept. The TimeWarp got a touch of bud rot and is now done as well. Overall a good 2nd season. Growing in pots likely resulted in earlier harvests for no reason I can determine at the moment. The early budding pretty much stopped vegetative growth so the plants weren't monsters. A friend grew in the ground and got monsters from maroc and a couple others, but much later flowering.
  12. There's a lot to like on this years roster. I chose Petey but only as long as he's signed soon. If he holds out too long then I'm moving on to any of the approximately 6-8 players that are high on my list. Hoglander, Boeser, Horvat, Demko, Miller and Hughes are all in the running. OEL could potentially be my new favourite depending on how he adjusts to his new home. Podkolzin, should he live up to the hopes of Canucks fans, could also be a new favourite. Edit to add: Garland could also move well up the list based on his work ethic and reputation.
  13. Agreed. He pretty much single handedly made the difference for Montreal against Boston (with Esposito and Orr no less) in his first Stanley Cup. Called up for 6 regular season games and went on to win the Conn Smythe as the playoff mvp.
  14. I played half a football game with a broken fibula and then walked home 10km. Didn't know it was broken until I woke up with my foot swollen to the size of a football. Greenstick fracture though, so not as bad likely.
  15. The first article can't determine if the majority or several workers walked off the job, nor does it want to do the investigative reporting to determine if these are LTC aids or nurses. The second article says nurses are burned out from overwork because of too many covid cases, which really undermines any anti-masking or anti-vaccine stand one might be taking.
  16. Relocation will be a function of a number of variables: population of the metropolitan area and likely fan base, popularity of the sport in the new city, competition from other major sports.
  17. With m-rna technology it's very easy to bring out a new vaccine specific for variants resistant to the original vaccine. You use a differently coded m-rna strand along with all of the other ingredients.
  18. Sure thing there, chief. Nothing about what he said should get anybodies panties in a knot. He wants to be on a team that has a chance to go deep. He says this teem can do it this year. When this next contract up, he wants to see where things stand.
  19. It must be mid-August if a nothing story like this gets blown up and talked about for 19 pages. The usual suspects in Vancouver sports media stirring the pot to try to have something to talk about.
  20. Actually, vaccination currently at least lowers the infection rate enough to keep R0 below zero if the whole population gets vaccinated. If everyone were vaccinated we'd slowly see covid extinguished from a wholly vaccinated population.
  21. To add to what Warhippy has stated, once corrected for the expected number of myocarditis/pericarditis cases in the vaccinated population, the number of 'excess' cases that could be attributed to the m-rna vaccines is exceedingly small. When considered in conjunction with the relatively mild nature of these cases and that most of them are easily treated with OTC NSAIDS, the risk is almost asymptotic with zero. Comparing this to the risk of death or serious outcome from the disease itself results in a resounding victory for vaccination as the vastly safer alternatives for all age groups for which the vaccine has been approved to date (in Canada that is 12+)
  22. For the Maroc I think it's because they are 2% ruderalis, so they have autoflower tendencies - but have a longer veg phase than most autos. I'm not sure about the timewarp. Maybe it's stress induced flowering because of the high heats we've had.
