The only reason he needed to do gymnastics around the cap was because he decided build the most top heavy (salary) team of the cap era. He 100% created the challenges that people giving him credit for working through.

I don't think we need to do all that much. If Demko is healthy, that fixes our biggest issue. Getting Hronek and Mikheyev back from injury will be huge. We are adding a 1G, top 4 D and top 6 F to the lineup without adding any cost. We have $5 mil in LTIR. I think Garland, Boeser, Myers are all tradable without any significant retention, but with limited returns. We can make this work without buyouts or trading picks. The holes in our lineup are on the bottom half, they can be addressed without a huge cost.

so playing with D Petey and Maybe Leo Carlson. This could be a really good fit for JL.

You can't say that on this forum I don't mean to imply Bloom is going to be a star in any way, but I'd probably value him at a 2nd round pick right now.

There are a number of mock drafts out there that have Benson falling into the 10-15 range. If he is there, it most likely means that ASP and Reinbacher are not, but if all three are, who do you take? I 1000% take Benson.

2nd round pick to dump Dickinson and get Bloom in return? This all has worked out pretty well for us so far.

Smart teams work around the cap pretty easily. Bruins will be fine. There is a team in there spot every year and figures it out.

Miller most likely isn't moving. He was outstanding under RT. PA will open up cap space in other ways.

None of these guys are going to win the Norris, but if they can play a few good games at a time on our bottom pair and rotate through, our depth is starting to look pretty good. The biggest value that they can provide other than being servicable, is that they are all on cheap deals, that is huge for our cap crunch. I could see Hirose-Johansson being a decent third pair down the road.

This is one of the worst UFA classes I can remember, only a couple of guys over .75 ppg. Garland, or Boeser @~$5mill will be tradeable, but likely not for big returns.

11th is the highest we can finish, but 12 is the highest we can draft. We are in the lottery for Bedard for sure. The team that finishes 12 can still win the lottery and pick 2nd, which would push us down a spot.

Philly can't catch us, and we can't catch Ottawa, so the spots we can currently draft in are down to: 1st 2nd 8th is our current slot 9th Tied with Washington currently, they hold the tie breaker against us. We Play the Ducks/Yotes, Caps play Bruins/Devils. 10 Wings are a point up and hold the tie breaker. They have the Canes/TB left 11 Blues are 2 points up and hold the Tie Breaker. They play Dallas twice. This is the lowest we can finish. 12 13 Lowest spot we can draft To me there is a top 4 Bedard, Michkov, Carlson, Fantili. A next 3 with Benson, Smith, Reinbacher. My guess would be we take one of the C's in the next tier: -Moore -Dvorsky -Leonard -Danielson I'd still be very happy with one of Sale, Cristall, if we go on the wing. I could see them having elite ceilings. Keep in mind that our needs now may be very different than they are in two years when we are looking to make a push.

I was a skeptic of them updating the skate jersey, but I think this is a nicer jersey that the original. I think it looks better without the white in the logo. I also really like the lack of neck striping. Can't wait to see the White version eventually...

My pick/prediction is that we land Oliver Moore at 8. I think he will be there, and is a real good fit for this team.

I mean, we did beat Dallas twice as of late, the leafs, and la. We played real well in losses to Boston, lv, and Minnesota. I do agree though, we need a 2nd pair ld, and a 3c pretty badly. I am confident that PA can get that done though.
