You know it’s a long boring summer when leafs fans troll a private Canucks group on Facebook. 

I’m HOPING this puts an end to the trade Edler talk. 

Assuming we do sign Vanek for short term, low $. Do we see him on the top line with Horvat and Boeser. No offence, but Baertschi is getting lucky with Horvat in my opinion as Burrows did with the Sedins. Not saying they're bad players, by all means they are good at what they do. Vanek did have a good year last year and could get upto 25 G with Horvat and act as a mentor for Horvat.

Gives us a chance to see how Horvat is without Baertschi as I personally don't see Baertschi in our long term plans with Horvat.

Thoughts? I'm all for trading Vanek/ Baertschi at the deadline if the price is right...

we sign vets like miller, ericksson sedin  to big money deals who never have won anything not sure if benning or linden are  what this team needs to get us a cup.  Benning pretty much is a glorified scout  who continually over pays certain players (eriksson, megna, chaput, sbisa, dorsett)

plus never holds vets accountable (edler, sedins) 

i almost dont blame for kesler jumping ship   tortorella was right the core stinks plus to top it off why the heck has horvat been signed long term.

I heard on Team 1040 that earlier this season during a stoppage in play, Shane Doan approached Bo Horvat and said,  "You're my favourite young player, keep up the good work." After that Bo really seemed to start working even harder because of the respect shown to him. I know Doan's not a Canuck, but what a class act doing that for a young player not even on his team.

Does anyone know where to collect packages from online purchases if they are stuck at Canada Post?  (I bought something awhile back and the vendor confirmed that they sent it to my house address but it hasn't arrived after a month, so wondering if it's worth it to go to the Post Office to try and pick it up).
