Myers completely exposed on that last goal..... Choosing to keep the D we have will result in lots of pucks that WILL pass.

We should look at packaging Boeser & Myers in a trade for a right shot shut down D who can play top 4 minutes and compliment Hughes or OEL plus a top 6 forward who can fight. I would go after John Klingberg and Jamie Benn (approx. 13million cap) Dallas could get out of Jamies contract but they would have to take back some salary Myers + Boeser plus 2022 pick to get it done (approx. 12million cap) Its a bold move but it would give us a fighting chance at the playoffs by fixing out D and adding toughness up front. Jamie can hold other players accountable who take runs at Pettersson. After that will need to get one more veteran right shot D who can play a shutdown style with Rathbone. Ideally someone who can through mitts. Loosing Gadjovich to SJ and trading Tyler Madden are the moves that really bug me. Juolevi was a bad draft pick and Benning went down with the ship on that pick and sold low. Juulsen is still young enough to salvage his career. I see him in a similar situation to Petan. Playing for his favorite team will help motivate him. I am still upset about loosing Gadjovich. But then it hit me. We will probably need a RD to replace Hamonic. Is there another team with a good RD who is in a similar situation as Gadjovich. Where he wasnt quite good enough to make a team with such forward depth. Maybe there is another team with good NHL RD and that prospect will be sent down but we could claim to make up for loosing Gadj.

The good thing Gadj did is win over a lot of Canucks fans this camp. That was a big success for him. He is a lot closer than we thought. Another season to work on his skating, and his shot will do him well for making the NHL team next season. He might even be a depth call up this year.

If Hamonics value is 0 because he refuses to be vaccinated but insists on playing in USA, and we need to make a trade for a top 4 RD but we dont have cap why not make a trade to a rebuilding team with Myers and picks. Next years draft will be a right off but that will be the cost of business. With podkolzins ability to win puck battles in the corners and make sweet passes in front of the net I would like to see a line with Gadjovich and Podkolzin on it. Gadjovich is known for his ability to score goals standing in the tough areas in front of the net.
