I agree......but shhhhhhhhhhhhh (lol). Let's not publicize this too much before he's traded! JK I still think we can get a first for him. Likely more if he gets hot. Hopefully that time comes sooner than later. I like Brock. He's likeable. But if we're looking to get better, we need his cap space and the return for him more than his production right now.

I'm talking about work outside of the NHL too though. She will have options but many would have been closed by now given the way things have unfolded.

Yeah I knew the glass ones were fake but didn't know the boards ones were.....makes sense now ha ha. I didn't see the visiting team boards having Van advertising though. Damn.....the world is getting more and more fake. Why not show some digital wins so every city thinks they've won the cup?!!!

Ah! I had no idea! So the players just see white?

I'm surprised the players haven't complained.....my thoughts exactly.

Well, all I can say is that (rightfully or wrongfully so), this lawsuit is a big gamble on Doerrie's end. If she doesn't win the case, it will be tough for her to find work as everyone will be worried about a 20-something being litigation happy employee. She likely could have moved on and found other work which is what most people would have done when the working relationship doesn't seem to be a fit. I have no idea what has happened, but vaso-vagal reactions are not uncommon and I would think unlikely to create much traction in terms of one's ability to do work. Mental health issues are of course more challenging, but this lawsuit in the public realm has just advertised this to all future employers and made it easy for them to read about it. Like I said, very risk for her future even though I like to think that people should feel safe to look out for their rights. I'm glad this wasn't a "boy's club" story and it sounds like her gender was not an issue. It's too bad the situation wasn't successful.

I think he's referring to the player himself likely being a bust. Waaayyyy too early to call that but he's not having a good year so far, so expect these comments to become more common I suppose. -

I recall the media being quite surprised that JB went off-script picking OJ that year. I also recall interviews after OJ was drafted where he was declaring himself ready for the NHL right away. Did this delusional attitude not come out in their interviews with him?!!! JB did well overall I would say (vs Gillis' atrocious drafting record), but OJ and JV were not good looks given those available at the time. -
Agree we don't want to lose him for nothing and I'm sure the TDL is the red line for JR and PA. But, I haven't read anything that suggests Bo wants out. It's possible that his agent and Canucks brass may not be talking because they have already more or less agreed on terms but some salary dumping is required before the Canucks can finalize the deal. Or perhaps they agreed that they need to wait to see if the Canucks are doing a rebuild (in which it would be mutually beneficial to trade Bo). There are all sorts of situations that could be in play without there being love lost. With that said, JR's public comments about Bo's stock rising was pretty poor.

OEL would not be that easy to move. Nor has he been the main problem for the club (not that he's helping with his contract). If we trade him, we create yet another large gap on D. We have a plethora of expensive forwards. Moving one for cap space is the way forward. We don't need middle-ground D players, we need top tier. That will have to come through the draft.......both for finding a top tier D for free and for paying him a low amount too.

[Signing] Canucks re-sign J.T. Miller
NHL97OneTimer replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Bear is a good story and the Canucks are a good fit. I see a long-term deal. You're right about Myers. If he was on an Edler deal, that would be the right fit. I have nothing against Myers.......he just got given 2 years too many on his contract (and 1-2M/yr too much). -

You're a push-over. You should have landed a 7th rounder too. -

Do we really need to blow this all up?
NHL97OneTimer replied to Elias Pettersson's topic in Canucks Talk
It's possible that moving Myers, Boeser and Garland could fetch us some D balance by next year and more so in the years after......and that would keep Miller, Bo, EP, QH and the Russians together which is formidable. I like this 4th line as well, although some extra grit would be better. So I would agree that it's possible that this team could "retool" to become a playoff team. BUT, if you want a cup in this town, time to blow it up and push for a stronger, faster team that's at a similar age. -
Perhaps Bo is being more professional by not addressing the media in the same way, but man I have to give big kudos to the leadership that Schenn is providing this year. If the Canucks lose while hitting, swinging and forechecking hard, so be it......but the lack of passion is what I can't support. Schenn is backing up his words.....lock him up for another couple of years please.
