  1. I do agree that it would be wise to off-load Miller's contract before the end of this season, even if we get fleeced. Make no mistake, Miller is a heart and soul for this team when he's on......so I'm fine with him for a re-tooling team if that's what management will do (despite that being a terrible idea). But if this team continues the path they're on (they will I suspect), I can see Miller giving up on this club. The risk is too great and so a first rounder would be a wise grab at this point.....hopefully with a prospect or additional draft pick or two.
  2. JT is still very valuable on a competitive team. His contract will suck in 4-5 years but a good gamble for a contender. One catch though......which contender can afford him?
  3. Demko.....just for good old time's sake
  4. Sorry @-Vintage Canuck-, you are certainly not lazy lol! Poor choice of words on my end
  5. I would love to see OEL's contract disappear for a rebuild but OEL is not in the same category as LE by any means. OEL still provides some service. Not worth the salary, but at least he's serviceable. LE was truly liquid gold down the drain.
  6. It might not be what we're looking for, but it would be more entertaining than what we're currently seeing...
  7. I can't see any reason to keep Brock on this team anymore unless he's untradeable which I would find tough to believe. Like Demko, the stock may be low but the league knows the potential and likelihood of a return to form with the right fit.
  8. You could be right but this team needs so much change in culture that it would have to be a very quick rebuild.....like by the end of next season.
  9. You nailed it with the last three words......"Strip it down, Strip it down....". That should be the chant.
  10. That's the ticket......EP is fantastic, but timing is everything
  11. Totally agree....I was thinking Sergachev wouldn't have taken the time needed to get NHL ready and so EP and QH would have been possibilities still. They wanted to draft a D at that point and they did......just took the wrong one. Hindsight.....sigh. But like you said, he may not have developed with the Canucks in the same way (which is a tragic knock on the Canucks history in my opinion).
  12. EP will not stick around for a rebuild......so are you wanting a retool or a rebuild?
  13. Or......trade Miller while they can and also trade Bo, and Boeser, and EP, and......
  14. Yup. I just hope that any tank will come with drafting high end, physical top 2 defencemen. I think history has shown that this is absolutely key to a cup.
  15. It's going to feel like a road season though, not a road trip.
  16. Five games later and you may be hearing crickets......"hello, is anyone there?!!! Well what about Burroughs.....do we really need him?"
  17. Exactly.....so much talent but not tight enough. That's why there's no way to dig out of this other than to tear it down and start a new family.
  18. Deep thoughts.......I wonder how the Canucks would be if they drafted Sergachev instead of Juolevi......
  19. Oh I like you're glass fullness Deb! It's like playing a violin on the Titanic perhaps though!
  20. Hate to say it but Boston is suffocating and relentless. A big lesson for this Canucks team.
