[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks
mordekai replied to Podzilla's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
People are ignoring the fact that JT is still 29 starting 2022 not 30ish and to your point about Kings main contributors, JT is also younger or same age as NYR main contributors as well (Zibanajed, Panarin, Strome, Kreider) -
[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks
mordekai replied to Podzilla's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
I want to show how JT is worth at least a Fiala if not more. He is a centerman who can win faceoffs and plays on PK which is the main difference between him and Fiala (limited pk). JT is unlikely to get anywhere near $9mil/season. Fair estimate is around 5 years at 8.5mil aav. So if a team trades for him and extends JT for more 5 years I think there is value in JT. *starting season age 2022 - *29yr - 5.25mil 2023 - 30yr - 8.5mil 2024- 31yr - 8.5mil 2025- 32yr - 8.5mil 2026 - 33yr - 8.5mil 2027 - 34yr - 8.5mil Total contract value in 6 seasons $47.75mil ending age of 35 Fiala 2022 - 26yr - 7.85mil 2023 - 27yr - 7.85mil 2024- 28yr - 7.85mil 2025- 29yr - 7.85mil 2026 - 30yr - 7.85mil 2027 - 31yr - 7.85mil 2028 - 32yr - 7.85mil Total contract value in 7 seasons $54.95mil ending age of 33 -
[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks
mordekai replied to Podzilla's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Is actually 3 years 4 months difference not 4 or 5 years. If is 5 years I would say yes big difference but 3 years isn’t as bad. JT also a center who takes faceoffs and plays pk role. -
Jett has to start playing more on defence than being a forward. Everyone is proposing trades to other teams second rounder defencemen and here we have one that we need to develop to play with hughes or OEL.

[Rumour] J.T. Miller Trade/Contract Talks
mordekai replied to Podzilla's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
Tampa did fine winning 2 cups with McDonough at almost 7mil and Herdman and Sergeachev all being Lefthanded defencemen. We just need the righty to compliment OEL not OEl to compliment myers avs just won the cup having one of worse goalie performance in the playoffs this year based on expected goals saved -
[Signing] Vegas extension with Reilly Smith
mordekai replied to NucknAsia's topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
He is not actually. Just because he is on pace to get 60 points doesn't mean he is a 20g 60pts player. In fact he has never hit 60points once other than his miraculous season. His stats is trending down, he can't stay healthy. No one smart enough is going to take on 5 more years of that at 6million. Btw he is older than JT Miller by a few months and since many have claimed JT is OLD and going to trend down, I would assume this logic applies to Karlsson as well. -
[Proposal] Let's Go Get that 2nd OA Pick

To add on to your point Fact: Virtanen still has more NHL total points than Poolparty but Virtanen is a bust but not poolparty.. go figure -

Geez man, go follow some hockey podcasts or listen to some talk radio. Its been rumored by many flyers are not in a rebuilding mode. They hired Torts for crying out loud. They might or might not trade their 5th overall pick. I don't known I dont' care. I just know is not smart to dump JT, hog (after a poor season) and a 2nd round for one pick who might or might not turn out to be anything. Canucks need like 3-4 more players not get rid of more players. We already have elite players in Petey and Quinn. We need to make the rest of the team more well rounded like Avs and Lightning. -

Of course i would take Pettersson. Thats why i said is better to trade for the 5th overall pick than the second overall cause as you guys said 2nd overall is going to cost 3 assets and a 5th overall won't -

When those quantity are also quality. Is not like we are talking about a bunch of 3rd or 4th rounders for 1 pick We are talking about a few former first rounders like Schneider, Chytil and a 2nd rounder so you need to reevaluate your risk assessment. I take that chance any day over a YAKUPOV or MURRAY -

You are making the arguments for me lol You are giving up JT hoglander and 2nd rounder for 60% chance of a stud? No thanks There are great players everywhere even at number 5 overall like flyers pick JT is worth a mid first round, prospect and a young player. I take that any day over a 60% chance of a stud -

Overpayment for 2nd overall. Kakko was suppose to be the next superstar winger at 2nd and looked how that turned out. these 18yr kids aren’t guaranteed unless they are named matthews or mcdavid -
[Signing] Canucks sign Andrei Kuzmenko

One thing we can't forget is JR/PA track record of winning Stanley Cups. That must be ONE of the many reasons. -
Ohlund is definitely first rounder

Those last 5 goals came from playoffs

CDC can like waste of a contract blah blah blah -
I looked at that young guys line and compared that to what they could have had if they didn't TANK and kept building on their existing team from their 2017-2018 season roster (2018 the year they sent out the INFAMOUS TANKING letter to fans) JT Miller - 99pts - with McDonagh traded for Namestnikov, Hajek, Howden, Lundkvist Zuccarello - 79pts - traded for Oliver Tärnström Buchnevich - 76pts - traded for Blais and 2022 2nd round Hayes - 31pts in 48 games - traded for Jets 1st round 2019 McDonagh - 26pts - with JT traded for Namestnikov, Hajek, Howden, Lundkvist Skjei - 39pts - traded for Braden Schneider Shattenkirk - 35pts - free agent Pionk - 34pts + Jets 1st round 2019 traded for trouba This would have been their top 9 excluding their 1st round pick from 2018/2019/2020 whom would be NHL ready Panarin - Zibanejad - Zuccarello Kreider - JT - Buchnevich Strome - Copp - Hayes Their D McDonagh - Fox Skjei - Pionk LHD - Shattenkirk To me that looks a team that would contend for the Stanley cup and not just get lucky advancing because of IGOR.

Both Ziba and Panarin aren't going to wait for the kid line to grow. They are ready to win now. They would be no different from JT's mindset. And people make it sound like the kid line has done so much but statistically they actually haven't. I have watched 70% of the NYR playoffs game and eye test tells me the same.
-
By few key vets you mean Kreider, Panarin, Strome, Zibanejad, Vatrano, Copp? All these forwards all lead NYR in points and TOI in the playoffs. All these guys are 28 and older. JT miller would be younger than Kreider and Panarin by 2 years and same year born as Strome and Zibanejad. I get they have young Defence core like Fox and Miler but NYR is not a team powered by young forwards.

[Signing] Canucks sign Nils Aman
mordekai replied to -Vintage Canuck-'s topic in Trades, Rumours, Signings
According SN650 Allvin has been watching him since he was 16. Also his performance bonus is for this coming season and not the second year of the contract so good incentive for Aman to make the squad this coming year. He also was in this year WC Swedish team when Linus Karlsson didn’t even get a game in. I would assume he is ahead of Karlsson ( few months apart in age)
