  1. I like his style of play to, he is a north/south guy with speed and size, likes to hit and can put the puck in the net. What is there not to like about Jake's game?
  2. I think that there is more to Gaunce's game, I think he may very well take Burr's spot, Baertchi is actually quite tough, he likes to play in middle more than on the boards, it is easier to score from the middle of the ice than on the boards.
  3. Jake will be fine, in two years we will have the power forward everyone is seeking, this year will be a bit better for him, possibly 20-25pts. He is worth the wait.
  4. Baertchi has huge potential, if he can keep improving he will become a superstar. He has crazy skill and can skate like the wind, I would keep him with Horvat and Hansen/Virtanen
  5. My dream for this year is, the Sedins plus Luoi don't do the Kenmore spin cylcle, I hope that they play more in front of the net and get more shots. The frustrating thing about the Sedins is how talented they really are, especially Hank, I wish he would shot more when he has the opportunity instead of passing the puck away when he has the goalie flat on his back, it just blows my mind when he does that.
  6. Looks awesome!!!! here is hoping that he and the Sedins can develop some good chemistry and do some damage.
  7. If he can bulk up a bit, maybe. Sounds like a decent player, hhhhmmm.
  8. That would be awesome, another Salo bomb from the point is just what we need for our struggling PP.
  9. I agree, but i think he could do anywhere between 40-60pts. He was going at a pretty good clip last year until he was injured. If he was healthy all season last year he would have put up about 55pts. If WD were to put Virtanen and Granlund with Sutter, this might be a sweet line.
  10. Agreed, I think that we could take a page out of Detroit's book as far as player development goes. We need to take our time with guys like Oli, because who knows, the extra two years of development could turn him into the next Doughty, or Kieth, wouldn't that be awesome!! Detroit has a knack for drafting average young players, and three to four years later they are superstars.
  11. Granlund looked pretty good, he just needs a real chance to prove his worth. He is quick and shifty, I think he could be one of those sleeper players that goes from zero to hero, he has the smarts and skill and the right attitude, here is hoping.
  12. I have looked at 3 different scouting reports on Oli, they all have different hights and weights, lol. So I just took a ballpark average, those reports do confirm your claim about smarts, skating, and puck movement. Like i said I can't wait to see him in action in camp, and who knows maybe preseason, i really hope that he is every bit as good as you say, we really need that on the blue line:)
  13. I really hope so, by all accounts (including yours) Oli sounds like the real deal, all the guys I mentioned are to and they have size, Oli is 6'2" but only 183lbs vs. Gauthier 6'3" 220lbs on RW he definitely is what we need to. Or Chychurin at 6'3" 210lbs on D. Having said that I am excited to see what Oli can do, especialy if he is everything he is being hyped up to be.
  14. I agree, with what JB is looking for in a trade, Tachuk, Gauthier, and Brown were available. Not to mention a few big D men that will be forces to be reconed with for years to come (Chychurin, Hauf, among others) to be honest i have never herd of our first rounder. I guess it is possible that he is one of those "diamonds in the rough", man i hope so. We will see come training camp and preseason.
  15. Sorry dude, touch screen sucks! Great comment by the way. It really added to my edumacation.
  16. I am one of those fans that have "been to this rodeo" before. I guess the difference is i actually know what i am talking about, it is peopke like you who really don't kniw what is going on, or see the bigger picture becsuse of your impatience. Hence why is say take a breath, and exhale. JB and Linden both said this is what the team will be for a few years, so really i think someone missed the first press conference with JB and Linden when they said that this transition us going to take few years, iether that or you did not pay attention, one of the two.

  17. I do have very thick skin, however i will defend myself aswell. Thanks for the advice.

  18. Lol, bro are you Arnold, you don't lift, back to the gym.

  19. I have no issue with jokes, or some mild humor, but when the intent is rip some one down it isn't funny anymore, in fact I am pretty sure that is called bullying, the last time i checked that is not cool!

  20. So age should dictate respect and wisdom? Or should age mean leading by example? I agreed with his post, not the sarcasm, just to set things right before we get carried away here. Everyone has thoughts and opinions, but in all honesty we can really do with out the infamitory/narcasistic sarcasm.

Sarcasm and humor in posts make my day, perhaps the issue is getting offended over an anonymous messaging board? Try some wit to match, I often find the funnest responses come from use of this form of communication.

Smithers Joe posts some of the most humble stories on here, but he may reply with some sarcasm at critics of Nucks mgmt, just his style.

  21. Virtanen will be much better this year, not that he was terrible last year, the thjng to remember is that he is just a kid who is not Gretzke, or Lemeux, or McDavid, most young guys like Virtanen take a few years to gain the experience, so i am not to sure why after one season a 19 year old kid is getting tossed under the bus, Jake is big, fast, and skilled, the best is yet to come. So lets be patient and watchhim prove all the nay sayers wrong.
  22. You don't say, obviously they have way more info than we have access to, i can only speak to what is given us by the media and what i saw in the draft. Do you know more than Benning? If you do maybe you could share in your vast experience and knowledge instead of thowing sarcasm around.
