Del Zotto is #3 in hits for all D in the NHL this year. Edler is #23 oa I'm not sure which stat surprises me more.
-
-
sounds like Brock will be ok but shut down for the year according to Dhaliwal
-
I'm going to the Canucks open practice tomorrow - anyone want anything?
-
Our local media is too hard on the team. And they blame "the fans" but they pick the stories. I'm tired of the fan blame that goes on when its groups like 1040 that are generating all the attention on the the negativity.

Not only are the local media (1040 especially) negative and self-serving, but they are gutless for deflecting blame onto the fans. Time for people to straight up ignore 1040, the Provies, anything Ed Willes writes, and Jeff Patterson in general. In the same breath, people should see Freidman for the same type of clown as the rest of these fools.

11:59 am "Just trade for anything Jim!!!"
12:01pm "no not that!!!"

@Alflives I'm pretty happy to get Leipsic actually, I wonder if he could be our next Burr? or Dane Fox I suppose. We'll find out soon enough.
-
Benning's next press conference is going to look a lot like this if all the negativity heaped on him today keeps up.

Vanek's the kind of guy that gets moved in the last hour as a consolation prize for a team that missed out on their real target. The rest of our guys either have little to no trade value, or have enough term that we can move them at another point if the return is right.
Glad Benning got his extension before the deadline so he doesn't feel pressured into making a bad trade.
-
Is there any deal we can make for Karlsson that doesn't drain our top 6 potential prospect pool entirely?
-
its funny how far apart most of CDC and the hockey media are on the Guddy extension. My bet is behind the scenes the Leafs wish that they hadn't tried to lowball Jim.

Yeah. The last time I was there they played Tool, NIN, Rage Against the Machine, Soundgarden, Depeche Mode, the Cure, New Order, and many more songs well into the night.
I defy a club in Vancouver's generic downtown core to boast that kind of breadth of music now.
Another great thing about Luv-A Fair was that it was a place where anyone was welcome, and everyone felt welcome.

17 medals already. We punch above our weight

@Wilbur This...
Unlike the U.S., where we keep score of everything all the time, Norway puts kids in sports but doesn’t let them keep score until age 13. The idea is to make sports part of their social development so that the motivation to stay involved is to have fun with their friends, not winning.

todays the day, Jim's gonna make a move.
or maybe tomorrow.

Lol @Alflives
I think the roster could use a bit of additional roughage too.
-
@Alflives nah, its just the last time I posted something like this Jim made a trade so I'm trying to move things along
-
I'm very happy that the Canucks picked stability and patience with development over blowing things up yet again.

Holm and Pouliot now, Juolevi next season.
Say you trade Hutton this deadline and Pouliot or Holm excel with more minutes then you know your set at LD that offseason, don't need to sign anyone and can start Juolevi in AHL. If you don't trade Hutton you may not know what you have in Pouliot and Holm and could lose one of them.
I agree though that you need to get good value. I think my minimum value for Hutton is a second round pick
-
OK so maybe I was wrong about Boucher. He's not playing like the same guy they sent down a few months ago.
-
Hopefully Henrik holds a team-only meeting after Marky's comments. Marky wasn't wrong but now its time for the leadership to step in.

If SJS can let go of Marleau on happy terms surely we can make a switch here too. But I don't see Linden allowing the stripping the C from Hank given how that happened to him. I like Linden but wonder sometimes if he can separate his feelings of loyalty from his former team mates and make the cold, logical decisions you have to make as a manager sometimes for the good of a business overall.
-
@Jimmy McGill its only theory ,but I think TL's loyalty combined with JB's desire to finish the rebuild ,retool whatev has caused a rift in their their business relationship ,hence the wait and see approach to jb's contract and how that relates to the wait and see approach that there is with the sedins? , just a theory..

We still love you Burr. Retire and come back here as a coach.

Guy should have won the Masterton for exposing the NHL refs for the criminals they are. Unfortunately the NHL decided to shoot the messenger instead of forcing the referees to act like professionals. Burrows got one criminal fired but there needs to be a cultural change in order to make the league respectable.

Bertuzzi thinks Jake can be our next big power forward....
Jake talk starts around 12:15 if you don't want to listen to the whole thing.
-
We don't want you either Rick Nash.
-
Bothchford not wanting Gudbranson makes me want Jim to sign Guddy to a long term deal even more.

@luckylager we'd be paying for potential thats true... its a risk but when you look at the other UFA D out there I'm not sure who else we could get. I'm still going with the Willie Mitchell seal of approval on Guddy.

@c00kies its all about balance
-
Its been 10 minutes since Brock got MVP... no "trade him while his value is high" threads yet? Desi? Desi?
-
Instead of a popular contributor list, I wonder if the mods could make a daily poll question there instead? Sort of like 1040 does but interesting.

GDTs are getting too negative.

If they don't extend JB, as a fan of 35+ years I am done with this team until Aquaman sells it. He was brought into a mess, to rebuild a mess, had no prospect pool and was handcuffed the first few years by having to try and make the playoffs and rebuild, you can't and re builds take time. He's in year 3 of the real changes, everyone can see he's done a magnificient job drafting and re-stocking, and his bad moves have not handcuffed the team in any manner. He has a built a pipeline the strongest I have ever seen (at least in potential) in all my years as a fan, and should get the opportunity to finish the job and see this team come to fruition. if Aquaman is simply looking at points he clealry is not a good businessman because JB is setting this team up for a decade or more of runs at the cup. #re-signjb
-
@BoeserSnipe ahh don't do that. Just curse Aquilini every time Boeser or Gaudette scores.
-
How does Bergevin still have a job? Is there a shortage of Quebecois GMs?
-
who cares if Jake went to Vegas during his break? the local media is making it sound like he showed up to a game drunk. And they claim "the fans" will be outraged. Sometimes I really hate our local hockey media trying to stir up bs.

@PhillipBlunt - it was 650 trying to make it a thing. What really annoyed me is them trying to make it a "fan" issue, like we're the ones that would be outraged or something. It was 1040 worthy.
