I've only got to fly 1st class once, i got bumped up once an SAS flight and man is it easy to get used to. Linens, the chef comes out to see if your dinner is good, actual good booze, the hot stewardesses, sleeping "pod", it was nicer than my apartment at the time.

@-Vintage Canuck- Yeah, I hear ya, and props for ignoring the baloney. All I'm saying is that they have more influence on some fans than I think is healthy for the microscopic market we're in. Not necessarily in the case of the Sedins at this moment in time, but with younger players. 

Does that apply to media everywhere? I'm certain that it does. Is there anything I can do about it? Only what @Jimmy McGill is trying to do for @apollo right now, remind people that they won't play anywhere else for a variety of personal reasons. If we all respect them enough to love them then we can lay off the trade chatter since, well, we all know 1040 will likely be perusing these boards looking for the next scandal or hot topic. 

I'm going to blame the tequila I had for lunch for the rant, but regardless of that I still feel pretty strongly about the influence of our media, and it's not always for good.

i like it. there are teams up against the cap or over it. we use to always spend up to the cap. no wiggle room.

capfriendly even predicts by the trade deadline we will have just over 9 mil in cap space.  Could see ourselves using that leverage taking on a bad contract and gaining a prospect/pick with that and still make a playoff push (thats if we are even in the picture)

@CRAZY_4_NAZZY  +1 (I'm out already this morning) Yup we could easily take on an expiring contract. But this is a very hard year to predict, theres too many new players and we have no idea what the chemistry will be or what Green is capable of. I could see us squeaking in to the 1st round or landing back at 25th or so. Either way I'm good, lots of good development stories to follow this year.

@Where's Wellwood it wasn't so much of a direct "trash" but he was saying if people were hanging on to it its not his problem and people here are only still upset by it because the team has been crappy since. Nice. So basically its the fans and teams fault he said something to piss us off. 

Better they collapse under pressure right away, rather than in the playoffs for 7 million each.

expecting as kid of 18 or so to respond now to the pressures of playoff hockey is a bit ludicrous

perhaps in 4 or 5 years, with better preparation, they will develop to be able to manage those expectations
