    4. JM_

you guys didn't disappoint. Unlike Schaller

  2. NJ put Domingue on waivers this am. Now that is curious.

    1. goalie13

      They called up Schneids.

    2. JM_

yeah but the buzz was COL was going to take him as part of a trade. Now that seems kaput. CS is also still really bad. But I guess that helps the tank.

I’m hearing we are soon to replace Green with Babcock.  :towel:

      How’s that for a beauty?

    3. JM_

OK since we're doing this, how about Aquilini is taking over as GM? I bet if I put that on HFBoards it would trend.

    4. Alflives

Listening to the rumours, and Aquilini is already the GM!  :frantic:

  4. So when do we see the Doughty to TO blockbuster go down? LA is cleaning house.

      agree with @King Heffy

no way LA deals Doughty for anyone but Mitch or Mathews.

It is the Leafs though..they could always throw in 5 1st rounders

    3. King Heffy

      King Heffy

Matthews for Doughty actually makes sense.  Laffs are desperate and have empty cupboards.

Our blueline has largely been healthy this season.

      Stay classy Vancouver.

  7. I'm hoping to see Schaller on waivers.

Zero pushback. And he has by far the worst goals against with the Schiller-Beagle-Sutter line. Its not even close (https://www.naturalstattrick.com/linestats.php?fromseason=20192020&thruseason=20192020&stype=2&sit=5v5&score=all&rate=n&team=VAN&vteam=ALL&view=wowy&loc=B&gpfilt=none&fd=2019-10-02&td=2020-04-04&tgp=2000&strict=incl&p1=8477213&p2=8474291&p3=8474091&p4=0&p5=0)

Useless &^@#ing plug, brings nothing and costs goals.

Just a reminder that Gallant is a players’ coach.  We have Petey and Huggy, who are clearly phenoms.  They deserve a prick coach, who will demand the rest of the team play the right way.

    3. 6string

Gallant can turn things around quickly but his departures from Florida and LV has me red flagging him, each time he was a let go was a huge surprise!

    4. 6string

Schaller and Eriksson are benched with Ferland and Motte's return.

  8. Congrat's to Christine Sinclair - now the all time leading goal scorer in int'l soccer

  9. Gaudette and Boeser are a poor fit. Prove me wrong.

Gaudette just likes to keep the puck, not once did he pass to Boeser last night, Boeser is a great player who deserves better players to play with.

Both of these players are young and finding chemistry with certain players takes awhile,Brock is a shooter and if he gets the puck at the right time could be very effective.

Adam G. is also a shooter, but as a center has to be looking to pass the puck but if players aren't finding open spaces why take a chance of giving up the puck. His wingers need to be open so Adam can dish the puck at the right time for a good chance on net.

As a third line center Adam has come along way and will continue to grow chemistry and the smarts to use his wingers more,a little confidence can go a long way.

i guess i chose the wrong emoticon there

was meant to convey flighty thinking

      not frantic or panic thoughts

      my bad

i need to update my emoticon knowledge i guess

am a damn rookie on those

  10. 1st time since 1967 a team has had 3 years in a row of rookies in the ASG. Well done Mr. Benning.

    2. coastal.view

well we all know every team needs to be represented

and the older players on the team do not warrant consideration

so we are left with high level rookies

says as much about our lack of elite veteran talent

but at least we have quality youngsters

      bodes well for the future

    3. Alflives

Hoglander next all star game, and the Pods the year after.  That’s five in a row

    4. coastal.view

hoglander has to beat out joulevi though

we have a competition for next season

  11. -88... is that the current temperature on Mars or the Red Wings +/-?

But the Wings have Larkin?

so glad we didn’t waste a pick on Mr. Perimeter.

    3. JM_

I wonder if they'll hit -150? Stevie Y knows how to command a tank, thats for sure.

    4. -AJ-

      @Pears amazingly, not even close.

The 1974-75 Capitals scored 181 goals and had 446 goals scored against them for a team +/- of -265.

  12. Can a line shuffle be as good as a trade?

Top line Jake, Lazarus Loui, Gaudette-Boeser? can this really produce 3 legit scoring lines? no TDL moves needed?

    1. Show previous comments  2 more
    2. luckylager

No, I don't believe a line shuffle is as good as a trade if you're actually getting a better piece.

However, when a rock star prospect gets added at the end of the season; that is better than a trade.

Pod could be that next season.

Could have a few guys breaking the door down next season actually.

Rambling here, but if Tree comes back at the end of the season he'll be great on the bottom pairing with Myers or Stech. Would be nice if he's top 4 capable, but it looks like he hasn't really developed offensively in the KHL. Maybe his D game has improved though. I dunno

Side note, in checking his stats on elite prospects, there's a "rumour" transaction notice posted today ....

    3. Phil_314

True, Lazarus Loui has been quite the revelation on the 2nd line, both in terms of not being a liability anymore and actually contributing and gelling with his line-mates.  Jake and Brock also appear interchangeable which can only be beneficial for depth.

Makes me wonder if we should still try to fix the 4th line though?  I know we have a couple of the better guys (Beagle was the 4th line center for a Cup winning team, Motte has also shown good energy and Sutter is serviceable) but we could use a cohesive grind line that doesn't get buried.  If we could find a guy who could be part of a unit which could lug the puck up ice, play physically, kill time, fore-check and score some (and hopefully we can shed cap along the way) then I think we could go quite far with this kind of top-12.

    4. 6string

Burrows moving to the top line with the Sedins comes to mind immediatley.

  13. hey are you still looking at electric vehicles? I've narrowed my search down to two - the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV or the Toyota Rav4 PHEV. Waiting to test drive the Toyota which is supposed to be available this spring. These two are the best value I've found. Not full electric but close enough for now.

Volvo xc60 plug in hybrid is pretty nice. I think the xc40 has a plug in hybrid option as well and is a bit smaller and cheaper. Those things motor.

  14. Playing hockey that matters heading into the ASG. What is this long lost feeling?

According to my dream interpretation skills, Canuck fans are the orcas and they're very mad and they are indeed attacking their trainers (Canucks coaching staff).

  23. last year 90 pts got you into the playoffs in the west. We're currently on pace for 92.

    1. -AJ-

As much as I wish we were doing like we were in October, I predicted we'd be on the cusp of playoffs this year and so far we are. That said, it's still fairly early, so we'll see how things continue, especially if when Tanev ever gets injured

the canucks are about where we thought they would be before the season began. fighting for a wild card spot.

its nice to see tho. they've had highs and lows already, injuries, etc. and still are very much in the hunt.

@Where's Wellwood Deadline for RFA signings. If they don't sign by 5pm, they're ineligible to play in the NHL this season.

    3. Alflives

It’s hilarious how the Soilers have lost any value in Poolparty.  I say they get a stalled prospect in return or a second round pick.  Should have traded they guy earlier for some depth.

    4. JM_

yeah Holland kind of blew this one I think, JPs not going to gain any more value playing in Finland, its not even AHL level experience.

Not surprised no one offered much for Honka.
