Something weird is going on with Ron.
There's always been something weird about Ron.

Why is anyone still listening to Mike Milbury? or paying him for that matter?

I'm really happy that we all us fans got Hughes into the ASG and didn't choose apathy. Good on you folks.

Sbisa claimed by Winnipeg today. Good for Luca.

Made a miso-based chicken recipe last night and made the mistake of giving the leftovers to my dog. What I saw this morning was unholy.

its all good Mike. We've always just used Presidents Choice for our dogs and they've been healthy happy pups. Yeah I break down and give them the occasional scrap but for gods sake their lives are so short and they like it so much I just can't help it sometimes. One thing I do avoid tho is giving them fatty stuff. I often give them leftover rice and they seem quite thrilled by that. For some reason it seemed like an ok idea to give them the leftover miso chicken..... it was probably that I was on my 3rd gin. Maybe I should have mentioned that earlier.

Why do people say "underlying numbers"? what are they lying under?

i think so much of the hockey discussion on the minds of so many posters
actually distracts from the hockey watching
analytics
contract numbers
etc
we can no longer longer just watch a player
fulfill a role on a team
and see how effective he is
now that is all coloured by his salary and analytics
and the passion some attach to these corollary issues
a bit overwhelming at times
you'd think they paid the salaries and ran the team

What did we ever do to deserve such bad hockey media? Its like a fire hose of BS when there's so much good stuff to be excited about.

No, I think it must be the "LOSING" year after year after year even the "lotto draft" we are LOSING.
Go to the finals three times, all loses, OUCH.and riots didn't make things any easier to take.(I mean I have relatives that were in Australia at the time and said they saw them on the news, totally bad scene).
The media should bring in a witch doctor or shaman to stop this right now,it would be a great PR stunt as well.Sure couldn't hurt.

I wish I could line them all up on the ice, and fire pucks at them. Willes article today was pathetic, comparing the Leafs and Canucks, and how much better Shanahan has done compared to Linden. I mean, getting a 1st OA certainly helps, doesn't it? The media here makes me angry, but during summer I'm starved for hockey news. I think what they do is write insulting articles that upset Canucks fans to get a defensive reaction. Pathetic.

If Pettersson can do this in the NHL I might need sedatives.

is this the most boring IIHF worlds team Canada has had? I have zero interest in watching this.

Can't wait to see a draft in person. How drunk should I get?

We traded away a lottery pick! Nobody knows what the pick will be yet but I'm sure it's a lottery pick! There's no way the team will be better, it's a lottery pick! What do you mean we can defer it to 2021? That would definitely be a lottery pick! Expecting us to rise in the standings is ridiculous!
Lottery pick!

Ohh yeah good job @Coconuts
You created a new drinking game.everytime someone says lottery pick take a shot.

If Green lets the kids learn from their mistakes and brings more pushback to the team then I'm happy.

I like Green's way of handling young players' mistakes. He'll scratch them, then put them in next game with regular minutes and let them respond. I can only hope Green follows a similar philosophy in the NHL. For WD it was a scratch, play them 5 minutes, bench them for the third period, scratch them again.

Would Loui for Kesler straight up work? Kesler would be on LTIR but if they take Loui they get a decent player and don't have to expose a younger F to Seattle like they would if they keep Kes.

So much to like from the 1st two games this season. We could easily be up 2-0.

things could be a lot worse than having Petey, Brock and Quinn improving daily #itsaprocess

I've been to a few and they're a lot of fun. The big tent is right beside Rogers Arena.

If Megna gets called up on Tuesday, CDC will:
1. Explode in a giant ball of electronic rage,
2. Go eerily quiet, or
3. Begin the #notmycoach ranting.

I think you're onto something when saying that Green is simply doing his due diligence. If multiple games go by without any shakeup, what then? Green also professed to have watched a lot of Canuck games over the last year or years (leading to the now famous comment about their play during their meeting) so what's stopping him from implementing those changes now?

@chon derry i know, but the start of the season is aways a buzz and then..... well i won't spoil it...

Hard not to love Nashville right now. "its all your fault" has to be the funniest thing I've ever heard from an NHL crowd.

Majority of people lately who have been attending games are as stuck up as it gets. I remember a particular game I went too with a buddy of mine... I want to say 2006 or so. Game against the Oilers (they were wearing those god awful oil drop jerseys. Canucks came back from behind to win in overtime 5-4.
Man, that arena was so frigging loud, it was awesome. -
@VanGnome i don't know if its stuck up, or maybe we just don't have as many noise initiators as before. I do think the cell phone wranglers in the corporate seats don't help. Thats why a loud section is such as good idea, it will become infectious.

Benning flips a coin. 1/2 the people are mad.

Correction.
1/2 are mad. The other half are mad at the people who are mad.
I would land in the second half - but yesterday on twitter I'm sure I didn't see one person blowing up about Petey's comments, everything I read was just people blowing up on those people (who I assume actually existed but never saw for myself).
