Can't wait to see a draft in person. How drunk should I get?
-
Would Stralman be worth a league minimum deal? A bit more RHD depth, he's still got a bit left in the tank.

Benning flips a coin. 1/2 the people are mad.

Correction.
1/2 are mad. The other half are mad at the people who are mad.
I would land in the second half - but yesterday on twitter I'm sure I didn't see one person blowing up about Petey's comments, everything I read was just people blowing up on those people (who I assume actually existed but never saw for myself).
-
The big Benning haters were comedy gold today, thanks fellas.

He definitely did well today, these are the deals he should've been doing all along but I suspect there is massive interference from ownership sadly. Even if poolman is a bust it shouldn't handicap the team, taking on OEL though.... yikes. What got him to this point deserves criticism but he somehow found a way out that hole and learned from last offseason. Today was definitely a good day for the team.

I like our chances of getting 1 player to crack the NHL out of todays group.

Can someone on waivers for a buyout stop being claimed if they have a NTC?

@CanuckinEdm I think the best way to clear some cap is a) use a buyout on Sutter, and b) try to find a 3-way deal, where Loui's salary gets retained twice (see https://www.capfriendly.com/trades?multi-team) this way we might avoid giving up significant assets to dump his full contract.
-
@Chickenspear Yes and I was saying I don't even think a NMC can stop a buyout which it cannot.
-
things could be a lot worse than having Petey, Brock and Quinn improving daily #itsaprocess
-
Would Loui for Kesler straight up work? Kesler would be on LTIR but if they take Loui they get a decent player and don't have to expose a younger F to Seattle like they would if they keep Kes.

Looks like its an AHL backup for the Leafs game on Saturday

@luckylager - no we broke the seal with yesterdays win. Backups shall now be crushed.

So much to like from the 1st two games this season. We could easily be up 2-0.

If Megna gets called up on Tuesday, CDC will:
1. Explode in a giant ball of electronic rage,
2. Go eerily quiet, or
3. Begin the #notmycoach ranting.

I think you're onto something when saying that Green is simply doing his due diligence. If multiple games go by without any shakeup, what then? Green also professed to have watched a lot of Canuck games over the last year or years (leading to the now famous comment about their play during their meeting) so what's stopping him from implementing those changes now?

@chon derry i know, but the start of the season is aways a buzz and then..... well i won't spoil it...

We still have ~18 mil in cap space after the new free agents. Still need to sign Jake and Stecher but we're not going to be close to the cap.

I'm so po'd about how the Canucks handled Tryamkin I'm ready to believe @Alflives about ownership meddling.

@Green Building i understand that, but it makes no sense to extend Hutton mid-season and not this guy as well. I'll wait to hear what Benning says about this before making a decision but this is the kind of thing this team can't afford, you can't bleed young talent during a rebuild, particularly for nothing. If Benning comes back saying this was a surprise move then its hard for me to continue to support him, you have to be more in touch with your team. But lets wait for the presser.
-
We'll still have Tryamkin's rights because he's an RFA. Due to him bolting, I think by qualifying him we'll have his rights until 2022... so he if wants to return to the NHL, it'll have to be with the Canucks.
This may be a blessing in disguise, though. The good news is that Tryamkin signed a 1 year deal, so he could come back at the tail end of next season like he did last year. That, and Tryamkin's departure (gulp), does pave a way for the Canucks to get Juolevi into the lineup without it being too crowded. It also means a guy like Evan McEney and/or Jordan Subban can legitmately earn a roster spot next year too. Hell, now Pedan may finally be in line to capture an extra d-man slot on the team next season too. Tryamkin's arrival did push Pedan down the depth chart.
Tryamkin probably saw how crowded the Canucks d-core was and bulked at it. With Gudbranson's return next season, it meant that his best shot was being a Number 5 defenseman which probably (and did) not sit well with Tryamkin. That and it seems he was still unhappy with how he was treated last Fall. If anything, it shows that Tryamkin has a bit of a diva behavior so it might be good for him to mature for a year in the KHL before returning to get serious in the NHL.
Either way, losing Tryamkin blows hard.

"fire up the rumour mill, boys!"
Oh and if they would want to move Gardiner I'd probably be down to buy low.Remember the good ol' days when we had the Hoff? Jake's pretty much the same kind of asset already (50 point D-man, and those don't grow on trees but with the right sheltering he could flourish)
-
Seabrook looking to be moved? says he'd be a good player for "somebody".
-
I think we should trade for Kesler if ANA gets bumped out in the 1st round
.
I'm just messing with ya.

jimmy
hate to be critical
but you know we are lacking for entertainment
where is the video of this magnificent flight pattern you witnessed
please post it
i'm sure we'd enjoy watching something on here
without having to tilt our head skyward ourselves
with some creativity
we can do things like name the birds
assess them for particular skill and rank them
who knows what enjoyment can be gleaned
record
and post
that should be the new mandate on here

So here's something else to worry about: Something unusual is happening with our planet's magnetic field "http://www.cbc.ca/radio/quirks/march-17-2018-remembering-stephen-hawking-disturbance-in-earth-s-magnetic-field-and-more-1.4575653/something-unusual-is-happening-with-our-planet-s-magnetic-field-1.4579903

@smithers joe Joe if our polarities shift does that mean we start playing for the other team? You know, might we start swinging from the other side of the plate?
-
I'm going to the Canucks open practice tomorrow - anyone want anything?
-
Boston's defence is looking very thin. I wonder if we could get a 2nd for Benn out of them....
-
For the same money on a 1 year deal, would you want Soderberg or Leivo?

Checking out the NHL milestone tracker today... guess who has a better career PPG than Patrick Marleau?
