  1. So I've been driving around Victoria for a week and figured out what was "wrong" compared to Vancouver... people are polite in Victoria. It threw me off.

The best part about Victoria is that it's not Nanaimo.

Nanaimo gets a bad rap, but it's a fine little city close to all kinds of outdoorsy stuff. If you're looking for night clubs and crap like that well, there's going to be disappointment. I hope they build that arena there and get the WHL team.

@Fantomex The valley is pretty sweet. Probably the most under-rated areas on the island. As far as ladies there, I don't know what to tell you bud. They're there, but the population isn't as concentrated as it is in other areas so you're not too likely to bump into a bus load of them at a club that doesn't exist. If you're still there in summer be sure to check out all the popular beaches and swimming holes, meet one, then take her to the quiet places you've already scouted out.

As summer nears women seem to appear exponentially with every few degrees the temperature rises.

@Green Building I've lived in Nanaimo for 13 years (including the last two after having to move back from Victoria for a bit). It's a decent city but when you've been here long enough, there's absolutely nothing to do and it's all geared towards families with kids or 65+ year old seniors. It's a decent place to live a family, or a good place to retire, but for young adults it's pretty rubbish.

Not to mention the only real employment here that isn't specialized is all part time. I'm fortunate to have a full time job. Most people I know from 22-30 years old are lucky to get 30 hours a week.

It's not a great city. Amazing sights though.
