JB isn't to blame here. It's pretty standard to not sign everybody to a new contract the day after the season ends, those things take time. I really liked Tryamkin, and I hope this is just a negotiating tactic on his part since he hasn't officially signed anything in Russia yet, but if there aren't some things lost in the translation then good riddance.

He was engaged on the ice, he showed much improvement and promise, and he appeared to buy into his team, but if after playing 1 season on a team full of defenceman where he had to work for his minutes he wants to throw in the towel then maybe he couldn't hack it. Or maybe he just wants to go home.

It's a shame, but if he truly doesn't want to be here then good riddance. 

Tryamkin was an RFA. He couldn't just sign in Russia without Benning at least having the chance to qualify or counter offer. He likely wouldn't be able to offer enough, but Tryamkin's agent would still need to tell Benning first.
