There's no way we can out-tank AZ or BUF for a guaranteed top 5 this year. So if by some miracle we're close to a wildcard spot by the TDL do we keep the team intact?

@Jimmy McGill a good FA would be nice but I like a young player that see's the canucks as a better fit for him than stuck in a lesser role behind bigger role players on his respective team, YOUNGER! the next 'window' hopefully lasts longer , I mean after 2011 the team fizzled , although that version was quite a lot older than this current one. I remember the oilers knockin at the door , being swept in 4 then for the next few years ,well you know...I really thought the following year 2012 we would be right there again ...nope.

@TNucks1 That's a good question. Former GM Darcy Regier's incompetence initially put the team into tank mode for a couple of years then while rebuilding, Former GM Tim Murray made some poor choices himself. Like Moulson now collecting $5 million from the Sabres to play on the LA Kings' AHL team. Ask @oldnewsabout his opinion on Tim Murray's GM choices. He had him pretty much pegged within his first year.
Now the brand new GM and brand new Coach are left to try and pick up the pieces. According to experts, choosing Jason Botterill was a big step in the right direction, but unfortunately he's not a miracle worker. He's stuck with what Tim Murray left him.
As for Phil Housley, he did well as an assistant coach with the Predators. The jury is still out on how well he will do once he gets a good team together.
Finally the players. I think Eichel had some in that locker room pegged last season when he said that there are guys that are satisfied with just being in the NHL and collecting an NHL cheque. You can see it night after night in some of their play. Those kind of players drag the rest of the team that wants to win games down into the gutter with them.
