Jake on LW full time - who says no?

almost any winger is way more dangerous in his off-wing due to a bigger angle available. Trouble is, it makes you a defensive liability along the boards, especially in your end. This is why almost all wingers play their natural side, unless they got Godly scoring talent to make up for their defensive weakness ( eg: Panarin, Jagr) or they are super defensively adept to overcome this weakness ( Motte, Burrows).
Jake needs to stick to his wing, especially given how clogged up the left side is right now with middling talent. We don't have a first line LW (we should go get one if we can afford to) and Baer, when healthy, is a lock for the 2nd wing LW slot. Even if he is not there, its a fight between Pearson, Leivo, Motte and Roussell for the last 3 LW slots, not to mention, LE is also a left wing dude and if we gotta hide him, we gotta hide him on the left side most of the time. -
apparently green says no. most wingers shoot better coming down their off wing but i don’t know if all their game is better on their off wing. brock and petey score their goals from the opposite side to their natural shots. jake may thrive on his off wing or he might have trouble excepting a pass on that side. the coach has to know these things. most d-men have trouble controlling and moving the puck out of their zone. by the way jake is playing it would worth trying.

@canuckistani I think Jakes vision - and confidence - are way higher on his off wing, and that offsets any defensive liabilities with the switch (if any), and the fact is I think teams will be pushed back hard with Jake moving in with speed much more often than Jake needing to switch to defence. Its also his best shot imo to be a real effective top 6 winger like he was picked to be.
