nice spaz and its 9 mil over 3 years after July 1st. Its not inconceivable that he could make that or very close to it somewhere else.
-
thats a good question but I don't see why not? I guess we could get retroactively punished like with Lu.

because his cap hit stays since its an over 35 contract. -
who says he's giving that up? I think he'll be able to earn that somewhere else if he's free of this current contract.

I guess he could be traded and then retire if LA doesn't really care if he's on the roster and just wants the prospects or picks? Maybe the coaching connection? sick of TO? who knows. -

what about just 4 mil of Marleau for their 2nd? TO clears off 4.25 and clears enough room for Mitchy. Then we can trade them Hutton for Zaitsav and Sandin -

sure but they have all the leverage there. TO could even retain 1 or 2 mil to make it work. -

Trouba has to come with an extension in place - sign and trade - otherwise its not worth risking the 10th. -

LA actually has the cap space for him - 11 mil with no major RFAs so I don't think Pierre is correct on LAs need to dump a contract - so I can see this being another futures-based deal. Dubie is going to have to give up a quality prospect and/or their 2nd for this to work. -
should have hung on to Dahlen, then they could have claimed they "fixed" the Burrows deal I'd probably try sending Hutton tbh.
-
its harsh that is might come to that, but I guess Gagner was useful for something as an example. A buyout has the exact same cap impact as sending Loui to Uitca, except the Uitca option ends 3 years earlier than a buyout! hence "leverage"
-
I'm disappointed in how its gone for sure, and that interview is going to make the media coverage of Loui unbearable if he's still here for next season. I doubt Green gives a rats behind what Loui's opinion is on deployment but the media will go crazy with it. But other GMs are going to look at it exactly how we're looking at guys like Zaitsav, as in what else comes with him. I don't really want Jim to give anything. The best thing is for Loui to accept a mutual termination on July 2nd if Jim can't find a trade partner looking for a cap floor player, and then I'm sure someone will be happy to have him a 2 mil per on a year to year basis.

different problems Rob. The US has achieved a reduction thanks to an increase in shale natural gas usage vs coal. We don't rely on coal anywhere near as much as the US so we need other solutions. And the US is still one of the largest per capita and overall emitters in the world so yeah they got a reduction but are still not good. And you're not telling the truth about BCs tax. Yes there's been a recent up tick but overall emissions are way down since the tax has been in place. We simply have too many people moving here and driving so its gone up a bit. Better transit and incentives to get greener cars (so taxes and rebates) will solve it.
-
yup. We don't have to take on Looch. We don't have to take on Zaitsav. We can, but its gotta cost otherwise pound sand. As far as Loui goes he's still worth 1/2 his contract, so its also a bit in the whatever category. It doesn't have to be moved either really.

I do like the idea of going big for sure. The problem is tho Dubie will be looking to move NZ before the draft and free agency so a Zaitsav deal would likely prevent a major d signing. Another reason to expect a big return in prospect talent even with Zatisav being an OK player. Its certainly possible that TO didn't use him to his full potential and also paid too much for him. I'm not sure how much confidence I have in Baumgartner to pull more out of Zaitsav either so we'd have to be OK with what he is so far. -
I think you're correct on the value but I just don't see Ken Holland making this his first big move. I do think he'll try to trade that pick for immediate F help tho.

I want Rasmus Sandin back in the deal but I get your point. There's no reason at all for us to take on this contract so might as well ask big. -
