  1. @Patrick Jane you need to re-do the title as "speculation" - no one on either side has made a public statement on it.
  2. I just want it done as safely as possible. Thats why I'm so high on canapux, I think thats the only way it will ever be refined out east.
  3. but they also deployed him mostly in d zone starts. Jim and the scouting team would have to be sure that there's more there than what we saw in TO.
  4. OK so assuming pure cap dump, is there a package of futures thats worth it? Their 2nd (53rd oa), Rasmus Sandin and NZ for our 3rd I'd be OK with it.
  5. its far too early to be worried about this. It makes sense that both sides are probably a couple mil apart, that will close in as the draft and free agent discussions get closer and Jim has an idea of what he really has to play with $ wise. Say e.g., that Karlsson really does want to be a Canuck, I'd be fine with not resigning Edler in that case and trying a cheaper stay at home LHD to keep the cap under control and he can lock up Boeser long term. If money's tighter, he may need to look at the bridge option.
  6. I was in Boston a few years ago.... you won't see a lot of lulu lemon. And least not ones you want to see.
  7. Yeah chances are nothing gets done, but he's clearly had some conversations with other GMs around it.
  8. when did Edmonton trade him to Pittsburgh?
  9. interesting that Jim seems open to moving the 10th.... Q: What about the next month or so. It’s June 1st on Saturday and three weeks to the draft. Beyond that, it’s free agency. It’s a great time of year for fans. Is this an enjoyable time for a manager knowing that these next four weeks can really give you a sense of what your hockey club is going to look like next season? A: First of all, we’re really excited to have the draft in Vancouver. It’s going to be a fun time for our fans and the city. This has been a good week so far talking to other general managers and to agents. I think there will be lots of talk between now and the draft. Picking at 10, I feel we’re going to get a really good player, but we’re also going to look to all of our options, too. We want to do what we can to improve our team, but if we hold on to the 10th pick I think we’re going to get a really good player. It’s a fun time of the year. This is when a lot of things get done and it kind of shapes what your team is going to look like for next year.
  10. sourest of grapes on their part. I think I've listened to 3 or 4 online interviews since they lost the radio rights and haven't tuned into them live once. All negative all the time.
  11. meh, every agent pushes these buttons. Lets worry in October.
  12. oh I thought that was all Bennings fault. You know, cuz he left it too late.
  13. this part must hurt the most "Alberta plunges ahead with uncontrolled development of its fossil fuels" sorry couldn't help it.
  14. you're mad at a guy for sticking to his fairly negotiated deal? is there some higher standard out there you're following that you think Phil needs to?
  15. I was just going to post Arizona as a really under-rated food scene. Good for Phil, go where you want buddy.

I guess if you believed that you'd turn into a firefighter chick magnet with 20 year old models hanging off you if you used their razors, this commercial might come as a shock.

I just expect a clean shave that doesn't turn my neck into flank steak.

  16. I can imagine that helps. Facebook is garbage. You are the product thats bought and sold.
  17. 'neoliberal myth" huh? tell that to the people crushed in a building collapse making Joe Fresh clothes. put away your 1st year arts philosophy for a minute and look around you - I guarantee you are surrounded by things made by people paid by low wages or from countries that have low standards of work safety. Yes you are responsible for what you buy.
  18. thats too simple a narrative, and pushes off your personal responsibly (I'm assuming you're not a billionaire). All of us own a piece of Shanghai smog or India slum. Assuming you own a phone and have bought clothes. And yes it applies to your blueberry smoothie too.
  19. then go to Starbucks and pay more. I'm totally on board with making companies pay minimum wage for TFWs regardless of the contract details. But you still won't see a rush of people looking to fill those jobs.
