  1. I think he knows his situation and doesn't need the threat of Utica to be open to something new, and tbh he hasn't played so badly that he deserves to be treated that way. Yeah its been a downer on the offensive side but he's been solid on defence and 30-ish points. He's hardly Richards or Voynov.
  2. its that or kick your dog I suppose, for these types.
  3. I've been thinking a lot about that lately, not for the same reasons as your experiences, but in being with my dad who's been in and out of the ICU a lot the last few years. Resilience is your best asset.
  4. there's a reason really rich people almost never contribute something of substance.
  5. apparently its really good. I had a prof that was an MP for the NWT and he used to tell stories about going out with people hunting and eating it. Supposedly the liver warms you up. Its also their only source of vitamin C in the winter.
  6. Fair enough. I guess the problem is when our constitution was written the only oil spill risk on the coast was whale oil.
  7. of course its global. But you know the argument that people in BC are eco hypocrites isn't going to gain you much sympathy for moving AB oil.
  8. maybe its because no one in Vancouver actually gets their oil from Venezuela?
  9. I was looking at the buyout option again recently.... the main part of it that makes sense is for Aquilini, he saves about 1.3 mil. From a cap perspective its minimal. We'd be far better off retaining 50% of his contract after his July 1st bonus is due. But we'd be more better off just playing him. And even better off yet if the new CBA negotiations allows a compliance buyout in a year.
  10. I'm not sure you can predict that for any player.
  11. I'm a big fan or peri peri on chicken. Cholua is a great choice too for something like a taco. For eggs I really like cayenne pepper, bring out a nice sweetness.
  12. so leaving a pacific rim trade partner pissed off is good trade strategy to you? if the definition of being strong now is also being stupid then I guess Scheer has a leg up.
  13. yup. Harpers approach to this was to take that line and say it was a private matter, and now we have a PacRim country thinking we're a bunch of a-holes. Wow, what a smart move. Its a big deal over there, its not expensive from the pov of the entire budget, and gets rid of a major irritant that would almost certainly grow into a trade barrier. That little clown Duterte will be gone someday, but if that trash wasn't we might ruin a trading relationship for good. But sure, lets look "strong" and piss away opportunities
  14. meh, since when is righting an old wrong "weak"? we want to have allies in the Pacific for trade, remember? how does letting this situation get even stupider help?
  15. they're having similar issues with trash from Australia too, I guess thats Trudeaus fault as well? https://globalnation.inquirer.net/175543/australia-trash-offends-philippines
  16. the Canadian company that sent it shut down soon after this was sent, same on the Philippines side. There's no one to go after, thats part of the problem.
  17. when I grew up in SK there would have been another group of kids that found these punks and taught them a lesson. Now I guess its video phones and 5 years in court.
  18. hey Jan I'm not disagreeing that jettisoning Clarkson is a help, just not worth a pick swap to delay picking in the first round by 2 years. I think they could get rid of him with an extra 3rd to Ottawa e.g. I'd like to get Miller here, I just don't want to give up any picks to get him, maybe a Brisebois-level prospect but I suspect many teams can beat us on return there too. I don't see Karlsson getting that from Vegas, dunno just a feeling but I think he's done in Vegas if they can move him for solid prospect returns.
  19. I can't see how they keep him tho with their cap situation, and he's also not the 40 goal guy from his 1st year either. I think he'd bring more in return than Eakin too. I'm sure Ottawa would take Clarkson for even a mid-round pick, just saying that its not worth a 1st to dump him.
  20. Clarkson isn't really a problem for them tho, he's on LTIR so I don't see Vegas having a pain point to move off their 1st this year, they actually don't have a particularly exciting prospect pool and need to build up their talent too. McPhee might actually get himself more picks in the 1st depending on where he trades William Karlsson and Colin Miller to.
  21. ...and Scheer saying this week he'll deficit spend for at least 5 more years if he's elected. Its like one of those Disney movies where people switch bodies.
  22. sure but it was a good dig. Horgan is just wasting time and money on these court cases and should be called out for it, its pure theatrics.
  23. this probably represents 15 minutes of garbage processed at the North Van transfer station on a summer saturday.
  24. it certainly all seems to be pointing in that way, I think Trudeau wants to be able to say work started this summer going into the next election.
