  1. yeah i don't know about Petey, I thought that it was more that he was just seeing tougher competition down the stretch and like all rookies needed time to adjust. He was getting back to form at the end of the year tho. Marky just had crappy d in front of him.
  2. see this is just the stuff that makes the Loui threads ultimately unreadable.
  3. then it has to be a hard pass
  4. depends on the team, after July 2nd his actual salary is 3 mil for a 6 mil cap hit, so for the cheapie GMs out there he's ideal from a cap management pov. His defensive numbers are very good, and when put on the top 6 he still produces at a decent rate (e.g., his 15 games with Bo and Peason which in hindsight may have been a showcase move). I do think there's a team roster fit out there, but its more whats coming back the other way. The garbage for garbage ideas are a non-starter. I doubt Aquilini would agree to a major salary retention. So best chance is a cap floor team and maybe a mid-round pick back imo.
  5. I don't think this is anything close to "toxic" but if nothing else does signal Loui's likely willingness to move on to a new situation if one's available.
  6. details, hip. a lot of people in AB want to use resource flow to effect the economies of other provinces (particularly to punish BC and QC), precisely what Lougheeds sec 92a was designed to prevent. Oh the irony.
  7. to me he sounds like a guy trying to make the best of a less than ideal situation for him too.
  8. this is on a similar journalistic level to the "Jakes stuff" episodes. It makes no difference at all to Louis tradability or not, assuming there's even a market for him right now. People are making way too much of this.
  9. why would he 'have to' go based on saying he and Green don't see 100% on everything? I doubt Green cares, and Loui's not wrong.
  10. I don't agree that Green was tanking on purpose, but I do think Loui is correct and there may not be much trust there in terms of putting him back in a top 6 role. I've only read the translation so I don't know what Loui really said in Swedish so maybe the meaning has been skewed a bit? Personally I blame the previous coach Willie D. I remember that he gave Loui and the Sedins a 10 game look before breaking that up and trying other things. Destroyed the chemistry right out of the gate imo and Willie was the one to drop Loui to the 4th line whereas no previous coach had done that.
  11. but you kind of are, when you imply that AB "gave" money to the rest of us.
  12. yay or nay? how about "why"? Loui is 6'1 179 pounds... is that "size" now? If the premise for these ideas is Loui is garbage so lets go looking for other teams garbage to swap, there will never be a good trade idea produced.
  13. ^^^ Scheen brings nearly as much for a whole heck of a lot less.
  14. why do you think AB deserves special treatment for following the law?
  15. I know thats the spin, but projects are being delayed or killed in the courts on lack of consultation now, so by bringing first nations into the process early to remove that issue, don't you think thats a good idea? I do like the concept of Blacks refinery, but isn't it dead anyway when norther gateway was shelved?
  16. no one is challenging that. But the fed's do have the power to regulate. So the new federal process is constitutional and within their rights.
  17. for voting in the same party for 40 years. If there's no change in governing you get crappy decisions. I think you'd agree what happened with the heritage fund qualifies.
  18. interesting comparison... Jakes speed would certainly be an asset with Bo and Pearson.
  19. Jason Kenney, probably the only premier in history to live in him mom's basement Kenney followed the rules by claiming mom's basement as primary residence, board decides https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/calgary/jason-kenney-primary-residence-mp-expense-1.5120002
  20. yup a trade makes sense, I'm just looking at the scenario where he's still here come next season. Jake... I hate to say it but I don't think he's got the hockey sense for a top line role, or at least he hasn't demonstrated it enough. I understand what you're saying but I just dont think we have anyone on the roster who's better on Bo's right side at this moment.
  21. but its also about the staff you have. Its easy to say put someone better in, but that might not be possible depending on how free agency and/or trades goes. Loui imo is still a decent fit on the top 6, his time there has been better than a lot of people make it out to be. If you check the stats he was the Sedins best partner, and showed well with Bo and Pearson too. There's no need to stick him in the bottom 6 where we already have more than enough players.
  22. I know. I'm an optimist.
  23. I read that originally as "take off, Hitmen". I thought for a second some Canadian-ness was rubbing off on you.
  24. But... what if they play Loui and EP together at the worlds and they have great chemistry?
