  1. yeah sorry I should have added that part I guess we can get a read off how much Jim liked him, since PL Dubois was in play for the trade, so at the least that gives us some sense of what it would take for the major pieces. I don't see how it doesn't include the 2020 1st, we don't have the C depth on the farm to even come close to that.

why? defensive play has always been undervalued here, and with our crack Vancouver media. Suttrz Corzi don't you know?
  3. I would imagine the conversation begins with our 2020 1st, a roster d and a kid with scoring potential.
  4. how are you being treated like a criminal? its a hands-free scanning tech that improves your wait time to get in, makes your experience safer, and you didn't pay for it. Plus you chose to go to an event.
  5. not well, potentially. Or just fine. Its hard to know. I don't buy into him being the sole issue in Montreal one bit and he's just fine in Nashville. But with only 3 years left on his deal its worth the risk as you say at the right price, but I have to think Nashville wants a pretty major youth piece in return.
  6. I guess. These grudge floor crossings rarely work out to anything substantial. I guess it would be nice for Lizzy to have a friend tho.
  7. oh come on you're already there but yeah all this Gardiner talk has to stop. Sometimes he makes a decent pass. Theres too many games I've seen he does something, lazy, stupid or just isn't where he's supposed to be to make a play. Not to mention he hasn't been any kind of difference maker this playoffs. There's a reason Babcock hasn't even played him 16 min per night. He's a buyout waiting to happen.
  8. I wonder if there will be a potato shortage crisis as the island will be legislated vegan?
  9. fair points. I found myself wondering when last years Jets were going to show up. It'll be interesting to see who they'd go for if they do make a change. Some big coaching names off the board already so I suppose they could look internally as well.
  10. thats interesting.... I wonder how much of it is a regional effect with people tired of the usual PC vs Lib stuff? might give the federal Greens a boost out east as well. The federal Liberals crushed all 4 seats the last election but that could all change in a hurry.
  11. do you really think it was his decision making that was the deciding difference tho? Not sure what another coach could have done with the same lineup. But maybe from a motivational pov a change is a good idea.
  12. wow, nerve hit here somehow. I think you're reading far too much into an emoji. Its a public board, I'll laugh if I feel like it. You're free to put me on ignore. I think you are missing the point. Petey has shown himself to be nothing but an admirable young professional. To suggest that he'd be motivated to leave because of the Dahlen situation is actually an insult to his professionalism. And yeah, that would be unusually out of character and flaky for that to be a factor for him. For all we know, Petey is mad at Dahlen for blowing his chance with the Canucks. You seem more upset by this than the poster I was quoting, maybe let him/her make their own argument if they want.
  13. you realize that Petey has been playing in a mens league for 3 years now? not sure what about his professionalism, demeanour, work ethic, etc. screams out 'flaky kid' to you but if thinking something happening with his bestie derailed his season or desire to stay with the Canucks have at it. for some reason you seem very offended by what I said, didn't mean to do that but drama on this level does make me laugh, so it is what it is.
  14. its funny because this isn't high school, these guys are professionals. Its also literally nothing like Gino and Bure.
  15. you have to draw me a picture.... how does EPs friend not doing well in the AHL relate to EP getting fatigued in the NHL? I have to know how this connects
  16. well, Hutty isn't exactly in a position to negotiate much, can't see him getting over 3 mil. But you could be right even that may be too much. I'd take Marleau for 1 year if he came with Kapanen.
  17. I don't know that he's worth risking a 1st over tbh, if we're going to do that I'd prefer it be for a potential top pairing d. We could go for Markus Petterson from Pits if we're willing to give up a 1st .e.g.,
  18. Benning seems to have a good relationship with Dubas, so I wonder if the threat of an offer sheet (not just from us but my bet is multiple offers will be made) so maybe they can pull off a deal if Dubas likes a current roster player of ours. Hutty could replace Gardiner for cheap and add in a 2020 3rd and maybe you have a deal.
  19. there's been some interesting work done on draft pick relative value so it might help to look at that when thinking about trades like this: https://bluebulletreport.com/2017/06/15/expanded-blue-bullet-draft-pick-value-chart/ fwiw I don't know how accurate the analysis is but IF its in the ballpark its a bit useful. Basically for trade #1 you're talking about moving up to a player that has nearly 3 times the chance of playing 100 or more NHL games. So you'd expect to have to take on something significant for that bump up. And Callahan might actually work on the top 6, and its only for 1 year. For trade #2, the pick values are too similar for me to want to take on Darling. Plus we have a goalie log jam then, and who we have now is better than Darling. I suppose we could waive him but for the exchange of pick value it seems to messy. For trade #3, I can't see Hutty being perceived as having 2nd round pick value.
  20. Toronto probably matches that and tries to dump someone else. Or suddenly Marleau has a mystery illness. I don't mind the idea tho.
  21. its weird to me that old racism is OK because its old, like thats a reason not to change things up. Its also weird to me how much a few people take things like this as attacks on their personal identity. If we're using using perceptions of individual qualities to limit people in some way, yeah thats racism. We're not perfect as a species but we also don't have to hang onto the past. I mean who really cares if this statue comes down? was it supposed to be there for all time? change is good.
  22. Boston hurt us once. Toronto has been screwing us for generations. I want Toronto tears flowing game 7. God I hope Drake is there.
