  1. thats fine, Green won't (and shouldn't) be any easier on him either. He may not have seen any OT time if he was experiencing fatigue from being sick.
  2. I agree in principle with all of that. Whats frustrating to me is Harper lagging on the R&D for cleanup, had he been responsible in that way we wouldn't be in this mess. But it doesn't do much good to keep brining that up either, other than to hope the real research work finally gets done. It would be great for everyone if they can show the stuff will float under the full range of coastal conditions (some here say that work has been done, but it hasn't, only for fresh water). In an ideal situation to me we'd have the stuff shipped here undiluted (so no risk of inland spills, i.e. no Kalamazoo situation in BC) to a first nations owned refinery and then shipped out to market with all the necessary spill information known and rapid response systems ready to go on standby. You'd think with all Canada has at its disposal with smart people, resources, etc. that wouldn't be an issue.
  3. building hospitals is the easy part, the hard part is being able staff them. There are all kinds of healthcare system issues in AB that should have been addressed but a big shiny now hospital looks better in news pic's.
  4. what would you suggest they do? if people want to see BC move away from oil to renewables you have to start somewhere. Some project in the lower mainland will have to be the first to be halted regardless of integration or not. As far as our energy needs go, this expansion actually threatens gasoline users in the province. Alberta has passed its legislation that says it can ship whatever percentage of product it deems. That means if they get a higher price for bitumen, too bad for BC, they'll have to get gasoline trucked in at higher prices.
  5. you can say that again. Just wait until the debates start, Notley and Kenney will be outdoing each other over who will punish BC more.
  6. Good commentary, not much new there other than the admission from KM that this project won't have an effect on their dividend payments which makes sense because they wouldn't be counting on this quite yet. Alberta's billboards in BC are funny, saying "Trans Mountain Pipeline means more money for roads, schools and hospitals." They forgot to add "...in Alberta" BC doesn't get nearly that kind of money to justify that comment.
  7. All this Tanev trade talk is making me miss the "Edler won't waive" threads.

      Great players for Raymond/Ballard and a 1st.....

  8. I guess I missed out, don't do either.
  9. thats my biggest concern as well. So far the research hasn't been done for all of the conditions you see on the BC coast.
  10. i8? I'd need to work in the patch to afford that!
  11. that as well. the Volt does really well, about 70km electric-only in winter, 100 or so in summer. It runs on a very neat battery/1.5l gas generator system. You still need gas if you can't plug in often but if you can plug in at home daily you only need to fill up about once every 1100 miles, or not at all if everything you do is within that 70-100 km electric only limit.
  12. Oh for sure, assuming you want to actually get around a prairie town in the winter. Out here all I need is a good set of snow tires and keeping your head up, the things I see from some drivers out here heading up for a ski would turn give you shivers.
  13. some yes, some no. The Chevy Volt works great. the BMW i3 not so great in the snow. I'm doing the research on which one to lease next.
  14. thats good, seemed like overkill to take the kids to soccer.
  15. yah they'd have to be made of brass and the size of coconuts to show up to the patch in an EV
  16. Interesting to see Kinder Morgan being pressured from investors more than our own government: Norway oil fund bolsters call for methane cuts from Kinder Morgan https://www.ft.com/content/0cb2e7d6-5287-11e8-b24e-cad6aa67e23e It shows just how much BS we are fed here in Canada. If pipelines are such a great option, why is there still a need to cut methane emissions? why does it take a large investor to make it happen? these companies have to be forced to do whats best, including emissions and safety.
  17. for show? or do you actually need it for work?
  18. you mean the people Alberta needs to run the oil sands?
  19. with the Canucks luck its got to be mumps or mono.
  20. successive AB premiers have said that.
  21. I didn't get to watch the game today, did Elias look more confident today?
  22. does anyone have a link to the goal in real time? the slow mo is nice but I'd like to see the real speed of it.
  23. that is a really good article on Stecher's PK ability (made all the more surprising from a Canucks Army post but thats another thread). I had no idea he was top 10, and even top 5, in the league in some PK stats, thats really impressive.
  24. sometimes you don't know until a guy gets a chance, and the NHL is moving more and more to putting kids in early vs. over-ripe. I think its inevitable now that EP gets at least a 9 game look to start the season. If he's really overmatched even when getting lots of o-zone time thats when he'll go to Utica imo.
