  1. depends who you are talking about Alf. The amount is so low you'd have to be quite easily satisfied with a crappy life. There's a high proportion of people with disabilities on social assistance so you'd have to really narrow down who you're discussing.
  2. yes he's exactly like Raymond, except for the iq, skill and potential. Other than that tho....
  3. all of this is good imo, gives him a sense of what he needs to do for the NHL.
  4. I'm old enough to remember the old PC party, which included space for things like multiculturalism and support for Canada's safety net. There's a selfish streak to the CPC now though that wasn't there pre-merger which gives more voice to ideas like Canada is "socialist" when thats a ridiculous idea in practice.
  5. what? thats ridiculous and you know it. Working hard and getting ahead isn't a mutually exclusive concept from a strong social safety net. But the CPC types want to tear it down, even though its one of the things that allows people to get ahead.
  6. thats not in the modern Canadian neocon way of thinking, they prefer a system of every one for themselves.
  7. thats certainly part of it, but he's also very lanky, its also probably just getting that stringy frame of his to move quicker.
  8. I guess Marchand is going to have to whip it out and do something super nasty before the league will do anything. Licking other players is disgusting.

I don't know what's nastier: the idea of being licked by Marchand, or the idea of licking another person's sweaty face.

maybe he lacks iodine in his system.

    4. Wilbur

Suspend him 1 game and make him wear a full cage for 1 year.

  9. oh for sure, its just a mixed bag of all 3 main parties. BC is weird.

    Ben Hutton | #27 | D

here's the percentage of time with each player from Dobber. The Biega pairing sample size is pretty small so that graph could literally be the result of one or two good possession games. I'm also hoping that Biega isn't a regular player next year to make a pairing that works with Hutton, that means something else had to give. The Guddy pairing if freaky bad. I guess they could try a Hutton-Tanev pairing more often but it sure looks like Chris is doing the heavy lifting. Freq Line Combination 26.4 HUTTON,BEN - TANEV,CHRISTOPHER 23.2 GUDBRANSON,ERIK - HUTTON,BEN 19 HUTTON,BEN - POULIOT,DERRICK 16.4 HUTTON,BEN - STECHER,TROY 9.6 BIEGA,ALEX - HUTTON,BEN
  11. yah its got bust written all over it. He's doing fine, but it looks like he's not going to be gifted any minutes. And thats OK, its a new type of challenge for him to have to produce under a different set of circumstances. 21 shifts tho to end the game so its actually a bit better than I thought.
  12. fortunately for all of us you aren't running the CPP fund.
  13. had the same thought, looking a bit bambi out there. A really skilled bambi.
  14. it was zero because the price bottomed out
  15. you may want to check the actual results before stating that: http://www.cbc.ca/news2/interactives/election-ridings/canada/
  16. no its small because its smart of a pension plan to diversify. You'd really suggest going heavy on a boom and bust industry for our pensions?
  17. same goes for any party, its the bane of Canadian federalism. The CPC can pull it off with less QC support but thats only because you guys in AB and SK vote like lemmings most of the time
  18. So what? that says nothing about the type or amount of investments the CPPIB makes, or what percentage of our economy is actually driven by oil. The CPPIB also invests in US oil: http://www.jwnenergy.com/article/2017/6/canada-pension-plan-invest-1-billion-us-oil-and-gas-assets/ Oil is also a small part of its overall portfolio: http://www.cppib.com/en/public-media/headlines/2017/cpp-fund-totals-3167-billion-2017-fiscal-year-end/
  19. of course it does, but so do a lot of other things. Just tired of hearing the myth that its "Canada's engine" and all that associated bs. Its nice, its an important piece, but its not doomsday if KM doesn't go through. For me personally I love the idea of the innovations around undiluted bitumen, I'm hoping that gets some steam but even supposedly tech-friendly Trudeau is ramming through pipelines (well west anyway).
  20. but thats just not the case at all, oil doesn't generate nearly enough money to do all of that, by something like an order of magnitude but you keep seeing that claim.
  21. different skill sets but good point. Little Johnny was picked at 104 Palmu at 181, both were long odds to even get an ELC. At 5-7 180 he actually might be a pain in the butt to deal with.
