  1. thats something we can agree on. I wouldn't want AB to think it has any direct piece of BCs natural gas industry. But its also inescapable that ABs benefit is BCs risk for coastal pipelines. This is really a massive failure on the feds part leading back to Harper who arrogantly assumed BC would just have to take it. Which was really stupid when all it takes to scuttle a major project is to delay it in the courts. You don't even have to technically stop it, just use your constitutional right to sue and you cause enough delays that something like Northern Gateway and maybe KM runs out of time. For something that tenuous you'd think the fed's would have sat down with all parties once more as soon as the Green-DP took power, but nope. Thats where Trudeau has dropped the ball. It also annoys me greatly that he let his buddy in Montreal get off with no threats for an eastern pipeline but I suppose we're not supposed to pay attention to that all the way out here.
  2. and the "trans mountain" pipeline - gimme more
  3. Its "our" resource? but Canada's coast? no hypocrisy there....
  4. No person in Alberta pays more than any other Canadian making the same wage. If you don't like personally contributing more, then get a lower paying job.
  5. are you really suggesting that someone can't disagree with a policy issue because we all benefit as citizens from government spending? Nice view of democracy. I guess you'd better keep it zipped next time the current government does something you don't like since Trudeau is doing something to benefit Albertans.
  6. sure but its hardly the same thing as dil bit that can't be cleaned up.
  7. yah same category as banana's too. Let me know how that bitumen smoothie tastes.
  8. show us the chart that poop is one the same level as diluted bitumen. Or continue to look pathetically uninformed. Dealers choice.
  9. meh, I'm tired of all the distraction and bullying tactics. Its a simple question, can it be cleaned up or not?
  10. I wonder if we can market it in Calgary as "flavours of BC"?
  11. yah what could happen with modern ship guidance technology?
  12. poops only bad if its fish food apparently
  13. its a personality cult in AB in the sense that whoever embodies and oozes the most "conservativeness" will win. Details don't matter there. They had 40 years of wasteful spending, massive healthcare blunders, and little diversification under the PCs and it didn't matter. Now that religion and so-called financial conservatism are merged there's just no chance for anyone else to win. I think Notley is fighting to avoid a total sweep at this point, she has no hope of winning a government.
  14. How about we make a trade. I'll support Alberta oil if you support coastal safety. Once they know how to clean up dil bit on the coast you can ship it. Seems fair to me.
  15. you don't need a platform with you have the "right principles" Hip. C'mon now.
  16. asking for clarification from the courts is blackmail? Just ship it through the NWT, they want it: http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/north/pipeline-from-oilsands-to-arctic-is-feasible-alberta-study-1.2757637
  17. thats one of the issues for sure, but Alberta refuses to take any responsibility for it whatsoever. Oh they'll make it and ship it, but once its on the boat... tough nuts BC.
  18. yup. The over reaction by her suggests to me that the law isn't that clear, which is why Horgan is asking for clarification. If thats a "threat" then so be it, we need to know where we stand. If Notely pushes gas prices to something ridiculous I think people in BC will be united in their opposition to the project, it will backfire badly.
  19. its pretty straightforward imo, none of Kinder Morgan, Alberta or the Fed's have done enough to demonstrate that shipping dil bit will be safe. No amount of "whataboutism's" or threats changes that. I'll admit I wasn't thrilled about Horgan getting elected but I do like a lot of what he's done so far, and I do support him on this.
  20. if it belongs to her it belongs to us. https://www.textbooks.com/Logic-for-Beginners-2nd-Edition/9780983188421/Michael-J-Monge.php?kpid=9780983188421U&kenshu=58b25c14-4dcb-4b79-b9ac-e8853f8d0ad6&mcid=XKS-7564-41-2014-GoogleShopping-PRIDREPLACE-291&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI1_ym24mu2gIVU0wNCh1qGQuEEAQYASABEgJRCvD_BwE
  21. We'll just start importing it from Washington State where they have a surplus.
  22. trees are renewable. hydroelectricity is green. poop is biodegradable. Sure mining has its downside but its not going to kill the coast.
  23. what I want to see added to this is a dedicated R&D centre (say out at UBC or the BCIT marine campus) that is continually working on applied R&D on dil bit cleanup.
