  1. I get it. The biggest problem I see is the media and a lot of the fanbase built up a massive expectation over a Miller deal. Its simultaneously the quick-fix of all our prospect issues AND also the worst thing to ever happen if we keep him. If we can collectively get over this myth and view it rationally, its not actually a bad situation.
  2. for sure. I have one, and yeah it would be very easy to do something far more complex than what this guy made. I wonder if this is going to change how leaders do things in public? if you think about the number of times Trudeau has been in public, in crowds, etc. its pretty damn scary.
  3. nah, thats defeatist talk thats clouded this fan base for far too long. Painting JR as being the same as Benning is just ridiculous.
  4. it usually takes a few seasons to fully purge the last GMs moves. I view Miller at worst as an own-rental. Thats the floor I have on it, and I'm OK with it. Anything more than that back, and I'm happy.
  5. bro, don't you lift? yeah I do think this is a real possibility. Ideal? no. End of days, hair on fire, etc. No.
  6. probably never a good time to panic I think people need to get their heads wrapped around the idea that Miller isn't going to bring back a huge prospect haul. It would have happened yesterday if there was a team willing to do that.
  7. MTL went high risk high reward for sure. Cleary everyone is waiting on the UFA situation to resolve itself before teams invest big in a Miller trade. Where's Kardi going? Malkin? those two have to fall first imo. As far a Myers goes, again we have to wait and see what happens with Manson before teams look at Myers. We're just not in a position to take on picks for cap dump players, and our player situation isn't one where our guys are the prime movers on the 13th.
  8. I think I'm one of the few that are fine to have him come back, and even "let him go for nothing" if we make the playoffs. Its not the end of our rebuild hopes if this plays out this way, as so far we clearly haven't been offered anything special to move him. I do believe the value of guys like Petey and Hughes being in the playoffs, even if its an early bounce, is high. They need to learn how to handle the post-season.
  9. this is pretty scary, how do you stop people from making something like this?
  10. ah - it could be the developments happening at the base of Cypress mountain, there's a lot of Uber-expensive developments happening there that won't be occupied for a long time.
  11. would you prefer they rush and make a mistake? Benning left us in some difficult positions, I don't know why we'd want to rush some quick fix that maybe leaves us worse off. But the idea that we aren't improving just isn't correct. We didn't trade our 1st for something dumb, we used it for a quality future goal scorer. They landed a kHL free agent. They fixed the goaltending snafu. They got a real NHL coaching staff in. We have a functioning front office. Did you really think one draft would fix all of Bennings roster issues?
  12. we don't have the assets to fix mistakes, it is what it is.
  13. now I'm thinking we're going to see Myers moved tomorrow and a JT extension after that.
  14. this is curious... Lou not willing to go down the tubes again next season
  15. shhh... if we don't talk about it, it might actually happen
