  1. huh. I'd be happy with the 2nd round pick Ottawa has from Tampa (64th) and Lassi Thomson. But a 2023 1st? wow, I mean if they want to lets do this thing
  2. I'm starting to wonder if we can get Toews for our 3C, 50% retained for Dickinson. What the heck is going on in CHI?
  3. Picked Geekie from this list but I'd be happy to see Mintyukov too.
  4. I kind of miss King, he had a way of moving the bar in a discussion like few others
  5. This feels like a crazy draft day already.... So sure why not?
  6. Miller and Jenner together would be fun to watch
  7. unless its an investment and the plan is to flip the consignment. Where was the building, was it one of the new luxury beasts planned for downtown?
  8. it really isn't the end of days tho. If 650 is correct the offers are poop anyway, not the franchise saving dream of so many Miller threads. I think people are forgetting after next year we have a ton of cap space. 27+ mil as it stands today, with no more dead cap problems either. We move Myers in his last year and its 32+. We're going to have a lot of options to make moves by trading for guys teams can't afford, by UFAs and maybe even an offer sheet. I think this is something we all need to remember, there's a great deal of flexibility coming up regardless of what happens with Miller.
  9. JR is a man in his 70s, he couldn't bend even if he wanted to.
  10. I almost wonder if Bo is under appreciated because he's so consistent and doesn't rock the boat in any way? his production is remarkable, for the last 6 seasons his P/60 has always been between 2.1 to 2.3 points/60. Add in 5 years in a row of CF% above 50%. Elite face off guy. Pencil in 50 to 60 pts. Ho-hum? if Bo was on another team and we landed him we'd all be freaking out being so lucky.
  11. as the man said, it is what it is. We don't actually know what was offered, none of that was confirmed except maybe the Chytil, Lundkvist, late 1st thing which we don't know how close that actually got. Even if it was a firm offer, its not a difference maker deal. I can see us being in a better position after day 1 of free agency once the musical chairs start and teams lose out on the top C's, of which there aren't many and then we may see a better offer for him.
  12. yeah if he was capable of that kind of physicality I could maybe justify it? not sure where Klingberg is a fit but its not here, not at the money its going to take.
  13. I don't think a 4th gets it done, Myers isn't a cap dump. Looking at the Dallas d group its pretty darn thin on right shots now. Hakanpaa is their only natural right shot now. Manson would cost them almost as much as Myers and maybe they don't land him.
  14. its been pretty funny to see people blow off steam on this thread since yesterday, but listening to John Shannon on it I think he could be correct and we may not see movement on this for some time yet. Hope I'm wrong, it would be nice to have it resolved but I can't see JR taking some kind of lowball trade offer and JT's camp seems pretty entrenched on a deal we can't afford, at least if the yap is accurate.
  15. Hughes, OEL and Klingberg are all good players.... just something about that trio doesn't make me feel that thats the group that puts us over the top.
  16. I do like Klingberg and think it would be a good upgrade.... I'm not even that worried about age, there's a lot of good dmen playing well into their 30s now. Its just do we want to invest 23-25 mil in Hughes, OEL, Klingberg as the main guys on d? is that an all your chips in group? maybe if Klingberg was a much more physical player and brought that dimension but thats missing. If we didn't already have OEL, or maybe had 2 years left on OEL, AND had a cheap defensive player pipeline coming up but we don't. Not sure how PA/JR could make it work.
