  1. tbh when Poolie is healthy he probably is better act actual defending in his own zone than those two.
  2. the news of contact talks stalling isn't going to help us thats for sure.
  3. thats fair. I guess for me I don't find him compelling or original, he kind of complies info from other sources and reports. Which is fine as far as it goes.
  4. no one knows. If it we me living in St. Petersburg right now, I'd be chartering a boat to Finland for my family under the radar of Russian border agents.
  5. not sure I'd call it 'great news' likely losing your best F. Just have to wait and see what the return is, with Serevalli's report about the two sides still being far apart that likely hurts us on the return.
  6. I don't know it it matters, Putins goons can make up whatever they want if it sends the message they want it too.
  7. man we just can't do 8 years at that number. Love the player but thats just not workable.
  8. OK I'll modify my comment - we can be near the top of zone exits.
  9. I hope Podkolzin can get his family here this summer.
  10. what about Russian Hughes? Minty seems to have that potential too, no?
  11. Its not an easy situation for Miller imo. We can move him now for an OK return (the Chytil, Lundkivst, late 1st type of return) and then he's basically a rental and has to go and start negotiations all over again with is new team. If we can keep him at 8 x 6 we need to do that. I still think we can make significant UFA upgrades by clearing out Myers, Pearson, Garland and Dickie.
  12. it has to be something like that, this is a unique situation that we don't have to help them with.
  13. but Anderson isn't really all that effective. I don't see him brining much of anything when he turns 30 either. This is a Bergevin mistake that we shouldn't help them fix. In one season, we. can pay Myers 5 mil bonus and then a team can have him for just 1 mil in real money. He'll be worth a lot to someone at that point.
  14. if we're going to give NJ that kind of marketing opportunity, not to mention the talent, it would have to be viewed as a big lopsided win for us. I'd want this years 2nd, 2023 unprotected 1st, a 2023 2nd just as the opening on the picks side. That would allow us to make an offer sheet play.
  15. I think we'd instantly regret this one. Is this something you've heard on the wire or just speculating?
  16. why? there are a few really knowledgable folks on here. Just because they aren't "pro's" doesn't mean that they don't have a good depth of knowledge and/or keep up with new info prospects or different leagues. Much of Drance's info comes from other sources too, he doesn't create original info for everything he writes.
  17. its going to be salty around here for a while whichever way it goes.
  18. no because Ballard, Raymond and a 2nd would be a big overpayment for Poolman, Dickie and a 2nd.
  19. yeah its fascinating to think of these two on the same team, I really like that he's got the OHL experience as well.
  20. been reading more about him, it does seem like he could be a steal at 15. If we can move Hughes over to the right side we'll lead the league in controlled exits.
  21. thats a good point, you have to think Rutherford is enjoying stirring the pot in his old division.
  22. why is that a certainty tho? Moving Pearson, Garland and Myers would give all kinds of space to upgrade the right side.
  23. I'd want to see the 2023 1st unprotected if thats all we're getting back.
