  1. there was a post yesterday saying we were supposed to know by last night or today what the Miller situation would be.
  2. So that 'clarity' promised yesterday is sure working out.
  3. how about we just bring in Kane then? I mean at least he'll play all the games.
  4. both are nicely cost controlled guys, so its not the worst thing ever to go into next season that way. But yeah, its likely just posturing.
  5. its a legit concern about a player, who has made his stand on it known.
  6. maybe he can bunk with Gaudette. I have zero respect for a stand on "rights" when its for something dumb.
  7. I suppose if we move Miller to FLA, we could be trying to get Marchment to agree to an extension? Interesting add for sure.
  8. Anderson is over rated around here because he's a Hab. He's not worth the money, CBJ knew what they were going when they shed him imo.
  9. no kidding, thats a hard hit to his wallet.
  10. I wonder if hiring a rookie GM means SJS have accepted the need to blow that team up and rebuild?
  11. teams can have multiple leaders of different styles, which imo would be preferable. It means more than one guy can step up on any given night.
  12. what was the context there? like a big move or?
  13. I don't believe Rutherford would waste anyones time with a bad offer. Based on what we've seen of this mgmt group so far, I would expect it to be fair, not top top the market money but fair. So I do agree there is a decent chance he's back.
  14. sure but you still need to field a team. If Dickie can find his game again he can also be flipped at the TDL. And of course, there may not be better offers made. Like I said, its all long shot thinking and not a move that we need to do, so throw in a low ball and see what happens.
  15. yeah I nearly spit out my coffee when I read "puck sucker" the other day
  16. the way it might work is if they think Dickie can turn it around enough to be useful to them. I wouldn't want to go any higher than a 4th to dump Dickie, I'd rather waive him and save the 1.025 mil in cap sending him to Abby, and who knows maybe Ottawa claims him. I realize this is all long-shot thinking, but I don't want to send good money after bad just to dump Dickie.
  17. stranger things have happened. And who knows, maybe Strome agrees to something under his QO?
  18. thats not a bad idea actually, if nothing else we shed Dickie and can let Strome walk if he doesn't accept an extension under his QO.
  19. as long as its not for a puck sucker scrub busteroo back. The Cap's trade possibilities don't thrill me, but the reality is there may only be 1 or 2 teams willing to pay a lot for him, and re-sign him to a large extension.
  20. not sure why anyone would give up a pick for his rights? but sure why not try.
  21. I guess thats proof Aquilini isn't in the mafia.
  22. thats interesting, earlier in the year I think you and I were discussing NJ not being a fit for Miller. Shows how quickly things can change.
