  1. I wouldn't be surprised to see Myers go on his own or as part of a package deal. Philly or Pittsburg maybe? Philly has holes all over, and maybe Burkie would consider a Marino for Myers swap? truculence and all that.
  2. we will get Bedard when AZ drafts him and he refuses to sign, then we'll just trade for him.
  3. we just need guys on the right side top 4 that are capable defensively. Maybe its been too long and people don't remember what that looks like. yup thats understandable. Marino is just one possible solution, I do think there are others. We don't know what other GMs are looking to do, I can imagine there are a number of ways this can go. But even adding Lyubushkin could be a nice add. It may free OEL from Myers, e.g. which would be nice. Maybe Dermott-Myers is fine as a 3rd pairing. Hughes-Schenn OEL-Lyubushkin Dermott-Myers OK its not sexy but maybe just getting mobile/offensive partners with more capable defensive partners is what we can accomplish this offseason.
  4. based on what? we really don't have much info either way, publicly PA/JR have said many times they'd like to try to keep him. Miller says he wants to stay. We've heard nothing to the contrary.
  5. well, they are certainly set on the left side, and it didn't cost them any valuable assets. Looks like a solid move to me.
  6. just wondering, there was a lot of talk of moving him last year and this would make it more possible
  7. it means Elliotte doesn't really know anything but wants you to think he's heard insider stuffs.
  8. well, either a poll or a pole. You might get put on a pole for suggesting Lundkvist Marino makes a lot of sense, but I suppose its as risky as anything else. Steady and boring is what Hughes needs imo.
  9. maybe as a winger, but he's clearly not a capable 3C
  10. 3rd round. Just going over the reports on him again, what concerns me is Button having him in the 2nd round. He was the only major scout that had Virtanen out of the 1st round too.
  11. do you really think his ceiling is a guy like Point? I need to go do some more reading up on this guy.
  12. that might play into it. It would be nice to have that kind of control over his development.
  13. If we're going to go high risk with this pick, shouldn't we go for Miroshnichenko?
  14. the guy was just set up to fail here. I'm hoping maybe someone like Ottawa who have trouble filling out rosters will take a flyer on him. Without moving guys like Pearson and Dickie I don't see how we bring in more speed in particular to the group, we're going to need it to keep up in the West.
  15. hopefully someone with more speed or bulking up our bottom 6 Dickie was awful. Part of that might be Green shattering his confidence for sure but he also may have been sheltered in Dallas, not sure. Whatever it is he just wasn't a fit or useful here. I agree a buyout isn't ideal at all, the only reason I can see it happening is if there's a trade where we just have to have that 1.7 in cap space savings.
  16. its about making moves that change the skill set in the group. I think we need more size and speed, and Pearson is likely one of the easier moves we could make. If we can send Dickie (or if one can dream, Poolman) with him all the better imo. He's movable because he's still a good player.
  17. I think it worked as a potential issue in Brock's case, but you wouldn't do it for 4th liners. I'm curious if PA/JR are considering any buyouts. I think the only way we see one before the 12th is if we make a trade that requires the cap space.
  18. moving Pearson and Dickie as a package to Ottawa gives us cap flexibility to add in more speed and maybe even size to the group. We can't go with the same bottom 6 from last year imo.
