  1. Poolman might be a good buyout idea depending on who we can sign in free agency. First 3 years have some good savings, then 3 more years of 916k on the books. 6 damn years tho to be rid of it. https://www.capfriendly.com/buyout-calculator/tucker-poolman If we can dump him on AZ maybe thats best but its going to cost us something significant. Or we just stick him in Abby's roster and avoid using LTIR. $&!#e options all around. My preference right now might be to bite the bullet and pay AZ as long as we're not talking about a 1st.
  2. the last few years of deals like this should be attractive to bottom feeder teams looking for higher AAV and low real dollars.
  3. who is the 'league source'? Lundkvist hasn't shown anything at the NHL level, and has been pretty average at the AHL level. He's also small. I just don't see how he moves the needle. Kakko might break out but right now he's tracking to be another Fin bust. Chytil is more interesting now since he showed well the playoffs, but as the centrepiece of a Miller deal? thats a big reach imo.
  4. anyone is tradable, and if it was a clear upgrade ultimately we'd all probably be onside with it if they went deep in the playoffs. What I haven't seen yet is a deal around Miller that gives us this. I'm still hopeful something reasonable is possible with Miller, particularly after the Brock signing. I thought that team elected arbitration might be a pinch point and from Brock's agent comments it appears that was a thing. So PA/JR aren't afraid to use the levers they have. For Miller, the big lever imo is uncertainly. Yes Miller can 'bet on himself' but man if he gets one knee on knee hit with no new deal next season it could cost him 10's of millions. 50-55 mil over 7 years with heavy bonus money is a reasonable deal imo and thats what I'm hoping to see.
  5. is there a calculator somewhere that shows the max variance Millers deal could have?
  6. yep thats what it looks like to me... but we shall see. could be for sure. Allvin has been pretty straightforward in the media tho, so he could be telling the truth here as well. If we're not getting big offers back on Miller, then imo the best course is to re-sign him if its reasonable.
  7. I'm not sure thats the plan. If Allvin's comments are to be taken at face value, they are fine with going into next season with Miller still on his last year of his deal, and I'd imagine that applies to Bo as well. If, and its a big IF, they can move out Pearson, Dickie and Poolman that would give us some flexibility to bring in one or two of Mikheyev, Lyubushkin, or maybe even a Deslauriers to bulk up the 4th line. It appears like the Boeser deal and the comments about Miller yesterday indicate we're not looking at a blow up, and maybe not even a step back plan either.
  8. NYR is going to have to do something tho, losing Strome and Copp leaves a big hole in their C depth. Unless they figure its time for the kids to step in. Maybe they go for an older veteran C like Stepan instead to help the kids out?
  9. man its going to be a crazy week of trade speculation. Maybe we can keep Garland and move Pearson instead and sign Lyubushkin for the right side.
  10. I'd like to see Pearson moved and bring in Mikheyev and maybe sign Lyubushkin.
  11. jokes aside, some pretty nice signings today. Decks cleared now for whatever they want to do with Miller. I'll be sad to see him go, but based on all the good things happening so far I'm hopeful its going to be impressive.
  12. I mean I guess there's a guy out there that might?
  13. I think thats him Its OK Miller probably gets signed for 9.5 in Philly and he can hassle me about thinking Miller would sign in the 7s here.
  14. Hey where's that guy that said there's no way Brock takes under this QO?
  15. this is what I was wondering about, if we'd see team arbitration. This deal is probably what he would have got, plus another year.
  16. It'll be great for Cull and Yeo to learn from Bruce imo. Not surprised Shaw went back to work with Torts, he might have a good run there too.
  17. man Rathbone at 850k for two years could be a real steal. Also makes him an excellent trade piece.
  18. I think we're going to have to get aggressive in landing that 3C.... I still think offer sheeting Roy from Vegas is worth the risk.
  19. some patience might work out better for us. Say e.g., Kadri stays in Colorado on July 13th, and Strome ends up somewhere other than Philly. Lots of pressure for NYR and PHI to stay in the playoff race, and might make an ever better deal possible.
