  1. based on MacKenzie's list I'd say Ohgren. Big LW who seems to have top 6 potential. Maybe a future big kid line with Klim? https://www.tsn.ca/juraj-slafkovsky-shane-wright-bob-mckenzie-nhl-draft-ranking-1.1818585 But Chesley might be the pick for need if he's still there. He's got good size as well.
  2. oh it's been stirred. Dunno, a lot of us are passionate about our positions on it for sure. Its interesting to see the different parameters people have at least. End of the day whatever happens I just want it to be good value and building to something.
  3. Watching the kids raise the cup in COL, it makes me wonder what could have been for the Sedins in 04/05 if the WCE had not lost a season.

LOL, sure, we don't want other CDN teams to win, but the league would be worse with less CDN teams than there are

I agree. But I'd still laugh at Alberta if they'd lost a team. I know we were pretty bad off at one point too.

Big picture: AB loses a team, you get to laugh once and it's gone and when the Canucks are good again (hopefully soon), there'd be one less AB team to humiliate on a regular basis like during the peak Sedin-era

  4. you could do a one year tank though. If they did jettison Miller, Bo, Boeser, Myers, Pearson, Garland there would be a lot of 1sts in 2023 and maybe 24, and some really interesting offer sheet opportunities. I don't think this is in the cards at all, but with both Bo and Miller in their last years and Boeser an RFA the timing is certainly there for it if they wanted to.
  5. I'm hoping we've seen the last of Dickie. You know what I mean.
  6. who's complaining? I'm saying he's raising Myers level of play.
  7. if we end up moving Myers for a decent return we will have OEL to thank. Maybe we can factor that into the cost of his salary a bit.
  8. If he had the majority of his games as a Canuck, sure. But unfortunately it didn't go that way. Its amazing tho to have two guys drafted and play an entire HOF career in one place.
  9. at the end of the day I'd go for the Boston deal. You get a cost controlled, good size top 4 RHD, a great offensive prospect too. Yes its a 2nd round pick, but the 1sts are all likely late 1sts anyway.
  10. wouldn't be surprised to hear somethings wrong with Hedman, he wasn't his usual dominant self. Injuries on both sides tho, so no one really can argue there was much of a benefit either way.
  11. wow this got personal fast. I think you're really overblowing this but OK.
  12. guys get traded all the time, why is "trust" any part of this? why would a future prospect care? hey remember 3 years ago when that other college guy got traded to a good team?
  13. well, things should start moving soon. I would think they would wait to see what happens with the Sedins today and maybe we'll see things start to shake up by the weekend. I would think JR would want a bit of time to make moves before the draft frenzy.
  14. thats some nice drama. We're not flushing him, he's a valuable asset in a trade.
  15. its not an easy negotiation, or trade. Its pretty ironic, we've got a great player and its hard to figure out the best route for him. I do think 55 is a fair number and can be structured to really benefit him, but if he thinks he can squeeze 10 more mil out of some other team then I guess more power to him. He needs to keep an eye on someone like Kadri going knee on knee with him for an entire year tho.
  16. he's certainly risking a lot waiting another year to find out. Thats a fair deal, particularly if its heavy on bonus money and front loaded.
  17. I'd rather see it at 7 years and bring the AAV under 8 mil.
  18. one reason me might not see much movement is some of the pieces JR inherited might be hard to move for good value and/or have to pay to move them. I do expect a big shake up though.
  19. regardless of the inputs, there hasn't been a country spared from the inflation spike. Beyond what the bank has done with interest rates and bonds, what exactly are we supposed to do? we're likely going to have to ride out a recession of some kind too. I'm just tired of blanket blame for everything. Trudeau kicked my puppy.
