  1. yeah me too, maybe I'm a little sensitive at the moment I'm getting more and more resigned to Miller being moved with all the recent media yap, just hope it doesn't disappoint like the Kadri deal in TO.
  2. I'm hoping with all the new pro-scouting and analytics folks we have now that they do recognize a player like Toews that others arent paying attention to.
  3. ? why the saltiness, we're just discussing options.
  4. all they ended up with lasting out of that deal was Kerfoot, correct?
  5. don't tease me, I'm still not over it
  6. nice - did you see anything that gives you hope he'll crack the NHL one day?
  7. yup that looming giant MacKinnon deal will be hard for them to manage. I suppose that could play into keeping Byram or not, but I think they keep him and look to move someone else.
  8. Miller at 50% should be attractive to 31 teams. I just read a hilarious SN article about how the Leafs should trade us their crap for him. Oh and throw in Schenn too
  9. every party voted for it, it seemed like the only option to avoid a complete crash. So now we're paying for it.
  10. pandemic spending may be part of it for sure - but what choice did we have? explain the alternative scenario. Also, it doesn't explain the same inflation issues in the US, or globally for that matter.
  11. could be, that list is pretty darn short tho: https://www.capfriendly.com/browse/free-agents/2023/points/all/defense/rfa/desc/right?stats-season=2022 Is NYI going to give up Dobson? I could see Liljegren out of TO but meh, why bother? yeah thats what I was getting at. I just can't see Sakic handing us that one.
  12. any Kamloops folks on here that can give a scouting report? what should we expect here?
  13. its why I want to keep him and just run with this core. The return likely won't be something that propels us to the next level.
  14. yeah its a curious idea, doesn't seem too likely but who knows?
  15. It'll be interesting to see if Rutherford allows Millers camp to talk extensions with other teams. That might shake something loose, or get Miller on something more reasonable. Lots of pressure on both sides, but imo Miller is really the one with the biggest risk and if he's chasing every last cent then that could backfire on him. I could see this going past the draft and UFA season and see what teams might be willing to do a multi-piece deal once they've missed out on Kardi, e.g.
  16. its Millers future, his retirement deal. Anything goes wrong physically and he loses potential 10's of millions. There's far more pressure on him going into next season with no extension.
  17. yep. I just don't see anyone giving us a future 1RHD, literally the hardest type of player to find.
  18. the reports we heard were Lundkvist as the d piece back.
  19. I don't love the idea of having to face Miller on LA, but I can see JR liking that deal.
  20. is it? not if they are getting crap offers back. He might be more valuable as a TDL rental now.
  21. so... is there a team out there willing to go 6.3-8.4 mil on Brock long term, e.g., a 5 year 6.5 or 7 mil offer sheet?
  22. if NYR wasn't willing to part with Schneider, no one is giving us a top 3 d man.
  23. might take a little more, but we need a couple of guys like this to impose our will more on teams.
  24. An QO isn't a signed deal tho. These guys seem to think Brock is an offer sheet candidate: https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2952882-5-nhl-restricted-free-agents-who-teams-should-target-with-an-offer-sheet Its an interesting idea. Someone could offer him 7.6 mil and we'd get a 1st, 2nd and 3rd back. 15 teams have the picks to do it; https://www.capfriendly.com/offer-sheet-calculator
