  1. but Bo's been our most consistent player for years.
  2. yup, but we're in a position to be able to take risks, we've got nothing to lose really.
  3. big, responsible RHD, great offensive #'s in the minors... not sure he's in with that group. I guess we'll find out what Tampa thinks of him soon enough.
  4. I just think Foote might be the kind of risk to take, given how good he was heading into the draft. Some of these guys do emerge later as top pair players, and he is only 23 which not so long ago used to be young for a d man.
  5. 200' Petey has been the best part of this season, by a mile.
  6. was Benning wrong, or just crappy at implementation?
  7. I have the Hue system, like it a lot. It is probably the most expensive system but its been bulletproof, zero issues at all. I'm only using it in 3 rooms so I've never maxed out the 50 light part but given how well its worked for us I would think it would do just fine with one bridge. Its very easy to create different room controls on the app.
  8. history more in terms of expecting a series of complex trades to happen to improve the team. Sure, its theoretically possible, but how likely? We needed to make some moves this year, and take another step. Instead we've made bottom pairing lateral moves, and still have a logjam in the F group with no signs of improvement, you can argue we've taken a step back. Its just my 2 cents, but a blow up is a much easier, clearer path to a contender than the mess we have now.
  9. I think it would be something along those lines given the length of the contract I disagree with this, but thats OK.
  10. I would imagine thats the kind of analysis that went into giving up on Devon Toews I just don't have any faith that our mgmt group is going to do anything like you've outlined. Path of least resistance is a full tank vs. expecting these guys to make the kinds of moves you've described.
  11. OK... but what in our team history says thats going to happen?
  12. not sure you're correct on that, he was picked 14th oa for a reason, and thats been a tough lineup to crack during the cup runs. I see trying for a guy like this as a lot more likely than JR/PA pulling off the multiple moves needed to do the 2 year turnaround, imo they've already blown the timing on that.
  13. I'd really like to try to pry Cal Foote out of Tampa somehow. People might be cold to the offer sheet version, but we may also need to take some risks on guys to see if they can hit their ceilings. Not sure what we have that they'd want tho...
  14. OK so here's the issue tho, we don't have a Hamilton-quality player available next offseason. Severson is arguably the best player available at a not crazy cap hit (https://www.capfriendly.com/browse/free-agents/2024/caphit/all/defense/all/desc/right?stats-season=2023). But not really that big, mobile Hughes partner and probably isn't a big enough help defensively. There's some interesting middle pair potential in that list, but maybe Bear is good enough and cheaper, and younger than a lot of those options. Is Bouchard a good offer sheet target for us? if nothing else maybe we can force Edmonton to get into even more cap hell.
  15. it would have to be equivalent roster hits coming back tho, so Zacha and Debrusk would likely need to come back our way.
  16. the lack of footage seems to be the root of some kind of weird conspiracy idea. Which is dumb.
  17. sure OK. Just some food for thought to finish it off then: https://theconversation.com/how-tiktok-got-political-139629
