  1. I blame Weisbrod. That fool just decided to put Dickie into an untenable role.
  2. sure, they do seem on the lighter side but it could work.
  3. you're close. I just think that 4th line needs beefing up a bit.
  4. the trade was OK, its the salary, term and role where it went off the rails. He just isn't a centre.
  5. Happy to see this. I met him and his son one morning in the Olympic Village when his son wanted to pet our dog. Super nice man.
  6. I don't dislike Pearson or undervalue his role, but he's also probably at his highest trade value with us right now. If he was 25lbs heavier and had some snarl to him I'd be all for keeping him.
  7. we did seem to get more out of Dickie once Bruce arrived. Willie D and Green just aren't NHL calibre coaches, thats a big part of the reason we've seen so many dud's on this team who then go elsewhere and have a rebound. Hell, even Guddy did.
  8. just trying to look at fair value, and I think Vegas would prefer prospect that have a track record they can evaluate. I could see Hog's and Rathbone, thats a really good value offer.
  9. I can't remember who, but there was a poster on here who said he watched Dallas regularly and said we'd regret this deal. He had a better take on Dickie than Benning did. It really makes me wonder if Benning simply took Weisbrod's take on players verbatim. I'm starting to wonder now if Benning ever even looked at any pro scouting info on his own, or if he just focused on the amateur stuff.
  10. its not a bad buyout, year 2 is really good only costing us 350k. But its also dead cap for 4 years. I'd rather see him on waivers to Abby who knows, maybe someone picks him up. Or at least if 1 mil is buried that makes him more tradable as depth.
  11. I like a lot of this. I still would like to find takers for Pearson and Dickie and try to get some bigger bodies on the bottom 6. The d upgrades will help a lot. As far as playoffs... if Crouse and Petey had chemistry out of camp, I'm not sure I'd count them out of a wildcard spot tbh if we could bulk up that 4th line a little bit.
  12. for a Roy offer sheet, we can go up to 4.2 mil per year and it just costs a 2nd. At that price, a lot of teams are going to be looking at Roy.
  13. huh. Well, I mean it would be great if they got a decent player out of him. Hogs and Rathbone packaged together might make an attractive option for some teams as well.
  14. Dickie and Poolman to AZ, with Hoglander as the sweetener?
  15. if Boston would do that, you have to say yes. I wasn't aiming that high but that would be a great deal for us.
  16. can't see it at all for Ceci, 3.3 for 3 more years I guess someone might take Barrie for free? but thats such an Edmonton move. maybe for one year. Any GM that gives him term is nuts.
  17. Vegas is in a tough spot tho, Roy is a nice offer sheet target that only costs a 2nd that Vegas can't match.
  18. McWhat? Is there suddenly a trade market for Barrie and Ceci?
  19. To Vegas: Rathbone and Aidan McDonough To Vancouver: Nic Roy and Nic Hague Why? Roy is a good fit for us at 3C, good size right hand shot that Vegas probably can't afford anymore due to their cap hell. Aidan McD is a promising prospect of the type that they will need in 2-3 years if/when he's ready to play in the NHL. Rathbone is great, but we're set on the left side for puck moving and need more size. Hague is a downgrade offensively, but we need big bodies on d. Vegas is offer sheet vulnerable and we'd be offering solid value back. Vegas is also helped out on their cap with Rathbone being a 10.2.c RFA, with zero negotiating rights.
  20. they were, but it came at the expense of OEL's production, and Myers too. Myers needs a solid stay at home left partner, OEL is too talented to be a babysitter.
  21. EDM only has 7 mil in cap space for next year with 6 roster spots to fill, and thats if Smith isn't retiring. Kane got what he wanted, a chance to bump up his stats for his next deal. I think Philly will go after him, he'd fit their culture.
