  1. my next door neighbour growing up was the staff sergeant of the local police dept. One of the first things he told us as teens was if we were ever in trouble to never say a word.
  2. because its being abused. Not only are they tanking for a ridiculous amount of time (like 5-6 years when its all over) they will be playing in a &^@#ing college rink. Its a disgrace to the game, and only being allowed by the grace of Bettman. Its just another example of Bettman letting the US teams do what they want.
  3. I think he can process the game well enough, he's just too gangly. He's so damn long in his limbs I think he struggles with small skilled players in close.
  4. thats all deals we can live with, still need to shed cap and improve on d but these deals make that possible.
  5. because he's built like a baby giraffe and can sometimes get walked pretty easily. He's at his best moving the puck out of the zone, not so much when he gets hemmed in.
  6. man, that makes it even worse. I suspect AZ is actually close to break-even with that scenario, or at least the owner is able to absorb the operating losses enough with an eye to cash in with a sale down the road - thats where I think this is leading. I don't care what the owners public statements are, he's positioning this for sale. So not only is AZ benefiting from HRR, that owners is shrinking the pie for everyone else. Oh and taking some of the best prospects in the meantime. Man some owners must be quite pissed off.
  7. the LTIR rules seem really unfair to me, almost punitive. For a legitimate career ending issue like Ferland, I don't understand why the team cap has to suffer for it, its not under anyones control.
  8. I think we'll know sooner than later. I know Dhaliwals tweet said 1 or 2 months but I think thats just to maintain a shred of credibility with league rules.
  9. I think I'd need to see proof of this. I think his losses are mitigated by moving to the college rink.
  10. I guess he could be sent to Abby and maybe placed on IR and not LTIR? at least we'd get the savings from sending him down.
  11. does it? doesn't seem to be in AZ's case. if Vancouver tried to pull this crap Bettman would yank the franchise from us.
  12. I've always felt that the timeline is shorter than a lot of people think, given the quality of the core pieces we have (particularly Demko and Hughes). But in order to make it shorter (1-2 years) JR has got to do some magic and clear a crap ton of cap space. It certainly sounds like Millers deal is going to hinge on term, so maybe 8.3 x 6? 50 mil deal? can you live with that?
  13. if we had an extension in place, sure. But Pasta is going to cost even more than Miller. But he is only 27 when the extension kicks in.
  14. why shouldn't 1/2 the league do this. Lets turn the whole thing into a joke. Move the Canucks to UBC for the next 4 years and clean up on top picks.
  15. theoretically, but its a disgrace and an insult to the rest of the league to ice a team that crappy. Add to that the college rink and its really a big middle finger to the other 31 teams since they will be guaranteed top 4 picks for the next 3 years at least.
  16. it really depends on what other moves JR can make. What if JR could move Garland, Myers, Poolman and Dickie for cap space and picks? Going into RFA/UFA season with 27 mil in cap space makes a lot of upgrades possible.
  17. NYI would match that for sure. I'd be interested in Zadorov for the intimidation factor for sure. I wonder if PK has any game left?
  18. Rick with the click bait first line. I'm tired of his drama.
  19. well, thats what NYI paid. It doesn't mean thats the market to dump Dickie. Dickinson is likely more useful to AZ than Ladd was. He can play for them (they still need to field a team) and he can likely be moved for a TDL asset if he does well there. Considering he'll get a lot of ice time thats a good possibility. Poolman otoh is negative value for sure. Its going to cost us to move that one.
  20. the problem was clearly in the net, so sure, go sign another F Not sure where Holland thinks he's going to get the money from, but EDM deserves a long term deal with Kane.
  21. it really wasn't a breakout season if you don't consider the covid shortened seasons a fluke. He's basically been PPG for 3 seasons now. but what if he is willing to do something in the 7s?
  22. ah, I thought that would be kicked up to the highest category, I was lazy and didn't check.
  23. well this is a change in tone for our media I still think Dallas is the most likely spot (assuming Klingberg is really gone from there). Suggesting TO is funny.
  24. @CanucksCountry do you really think Dobson is worth 4 1sts in offer sheet compensation?
