  1. ^ this forgot cap space. The Coilers have at least 6 roster spots to fill and 7 mil in cap space. Kane will chase $. Even if they manage to trade Barrie, that still doesn't leave room to re-sign him.
  2. contributing, and nicely cost efficient. So we shall see. If he makes the team after 2 years in Abby that would be a win.
  3. Craig Button has been at or near the top of most accurate for a while. These should give you an idea of which scouts are more accurate: http://www.mynhldraft.com/2018-draft/2018-nhl-draft-rankings http://www.mynhldraft.com/2017-draft/2017-nhl-draft-rankings
  4. yeah I had that thought too. I wonder what Jim would have traded.... 3rd round pick?
  5. 6/7 years of playoffs with two cups. I don't mind people talking about McBaby's offensive talents, just don't blow smoke up someone's wazoo and pretend he's as complete a player as Crosby, because he isn't.
  6. at least we didn't give up a pick for him. This is how you try to make up for some failed/traded picks, with a free asset.
  7. its like Benning went up to the all you can eat buffet and kept taking helpings of macaroni salad. No one told him he had other options.
  8. EDM tweety guy talking about moving Barrie. Who takes his 4.5 mil salary? Doesn't put up many points in the playoffs and we've all seen him "defend." They might have to pay to move him.
  9. I agree, and my preference would be for Miller to stay if something reasonable can be worked out.
  10. I think Millers drive and competitiveness would be desirable there tho. He'd also have a lot of skill around him and may not try as much of that kind of thing.
  11. I've worked on project for a fluorescence device that came out of there. Its a great place. I have no more tolerance for people looking to spread stupid theories anymore, covid burned it all away.
  12. compare McBaby to Crosby, who is a much more complete player. Wayne was a different era, guys still smoked between periods and you could ice guys who's only role was to kill someone if they got within 10 feet of Wayne.
  13. sure but who better to learn the details from than leaders like Miller and Chiarot?
  14. interesting, I wonder why they didn't bet longer on him? good player and wants to be there.
  15. I'm hoping someone makes TO really overpay for Campbell. That could open up a nice cheap trade for us, for Kase, he could be a nice fit on our 3rd line.
  16. if its just those two then the "source" is Millers agent.
  17. if NJ can add Miller, another top 4 left side d, and a decent goalie they are suddenly a pretty good looking team. Trade for Miller is certainly possible. Adding a reasonably priced free agent like Chiarot or DeHaan, yep. The goalie is harder, but they could steal Campbell from TO which would be awesome.
  18. they are more palatable to watch, but gotta root for Motte. MacKinnon has whined too many times in the media here.
  19. I guess its possible, but who has the assets to give up? not that any deal would satisfy Oilers fans. I hope this puts an end to all the "best ever" yap about him tho until he actually carries his team to the cup.
  20. https://www.cancer.gov/research/progress/250-years-milestones maybe its you that haven't heard of it. Do you really think all the folks working at BC Cancer Agency e.g. are just sitting there raking in fat salaries blocking cures?
  21. I hope you don't really believe this.
  22. that one confuses me as well. Hughes is also locked up on a good contact for 5 more years. Why throw that away for a pick?
  23. statistically it likely was him, thats what they have, plus the weird camping story. DNA, fingerprints, etc. would be useless.
