  1. I do think there is. We're still in a cap world that requires a bit of restraint by most teams. Miller may also view Vancouver as the best overall situation for him and his family. 7.5 x 7 would be where I'd bow out. Is there someone out there willing to give him more than 52 mil total? really hard to say. Maybe NJ?
  2. just one small edit there is a price worth keeping Miller, just don't know if he's willing to take an AAV haircut to make that happen. Stranger things have happened.
  3. Some impressive names, some not so impressive names. Kakko and Byfield are too young to judge yet. But from the others, I'd say 3/8 haven't lived up to 2nd oa billing. So even a 2, there's real risk. Patrick is obviously the big bust.
  4. unfortunately in our society only baby steps are tolerated. We have to get the more conservative thinkers to accept this path, and it takes them time. So once decriminalization doesn't end up in the horror show they think it will (just like they said safe injection sites would unleash hell on earth) we can then move on to a sensible safe supply. If we don't do it this way the next time the con's get back in power they'll just change it back.
  5. seems like a very low risk option, so sure why not?
  6. at some point the McDiver effect has to start wearing off, doesn't it? even he isn't enough to carry at team when it matters. EDM really doesn't have any cap room to improve for next year.
  7. thats a good point. Here he'll get to play in more roles for sure.
  8. for sure. Just thinking more if we can only afford a budget option.
  9. it reminds me of arguing with a teenager. Yes dear, there are rules.
  10. maybe because Millers agent would need Rutherfords permission to do that? if JR thought letting those discussions happen would limit his trade options for Miller he wouldn't let it happen. Limiting the number of possible teams never helps.
  11. I could see him getting sheltered top 6 time maybe? he wouldn't be able to handle 3C yet.
  12. its interesting to look at the history of 3 way trades: https://www.capfriendly.com/trades?multi-team this one would be up there in terms of value moved around. I don't think NJ is interested in moving Severson. I could see this being the deal, with us just getting the picks back. We'd get the cap space, and the higher pick and recover a 2nd. Vancouver IN....................NJ -2022-2 OA, , Ottawa's 2022-2nd 39th OANJ.................IN....................Miller and 2022-7th OAOttawa........IN...................Garland and 2022-15th OA
  13. it did work with Campbell and Guddy way back in FLA tho. Dunno, just a thought, not really looking for it to happen.
  14. yep it is. I think they let Strome go, give Copp his retirement deal. I like the proposals around NJ a lot better, but I'm greedy. I want that 2nd oa.
  15. if he wants to come back at 1 mil per year, I'd be fine with it. Just realize what he is as you say, with the correct lens.
  16. I wonder now if Chytil having a bit of a breakout just means NYR simply doesn't replace Strome, and just runs with the kids more. NYR are going to need a LOT of cap space in two years to keep their current youth.
  17. yeah that Lundkvist part didn't thrill me either. I wasn't too motivated on Chytil because I'm hoping for a right shot C but maybe I'm being greedy.
  18. he's not worth 4 1sts tho, which is what it would take.
