  1. this was an interesting comment. If thats true, then we won't be seeing many moves this year. Keeping Brock at his QO doesn't leave much room other than bringing up ELCs or guys on league min deals to fill the remaining roster spots. Unless they already have some deals in place for guys like Pearson and Dickie.
  2. none of the reports had Schneider on offer, so that one never got out of dry dock.
  3. He's going to be in Abby anyway, so why not explore his 3C potential? if he's capable, its a big win for us.
  4. I like OEL, if we make the playoffs next year we'll be happy to have him. Technically no on has to be traded going in to next season so there should be any panic deals, I'd expect good roster player back in any scenario.
  5. thats true. I guess it depends on how badly they want to keep Ovi's scoring going.
  6. but it could have. If something was truly borderline they could have let it go under the circumstances.
  7. I'm still giggling a little bit. I hate Calgary.
  8. It distinctly kicked Cowgary out of the playoffs.
  9. Its fine to let him percolate in the AHL for one year. Its raised Rathbone's game a lot, and Linus will get call up's for sure at some point. This kid could be pretty special, I see him as maybe our Erikson-Ek as his ceiling. Probably not as high a goal scorer, but a future 3C.
  10. tbh that just makes it funnier for me. I am kind of surprised the NHL didn't let it go, it was clear that puck was going in no matter what.
  11. I mean, it made some sense at the time.... no one really saw that big a decline.
  12. Brock's shot is elite, he was improving a lot before this year (which I give him a pass on) and he's a high character team mate. Garland's heart is awesome, but he's tiny.
  13. yeah I was trying to make something work, but unless its unprotected 2022, 2023 1sts and a whack of prospects I can't see it happening.
  14. one thing that changes the equation now is lil Jonny. If he ends up in NJ they do need to make room for him, not sure they have the room for Miller at 9ish as well.
  15. EDM is where it is due to pure luck, and despite their terrible string of GMs. Winning a generational lotto does have its perks.
  16. because to be an effective player he needs to be good defensively - that will be his biggest learning curve. So if he's already there, great but I think a lot of folks just don't expect him to be able to step in to the defensive side of things right away, its a lot to expect.
  17. my preference would be Brock re-signed in the low 6's long term and move Garland. There's still a lot of time between now and the draft to get something done.
  18. I think its more that he now has a far better idea of whats here. Don't forget, when he showed up this team was deep in the crapper. But then they showed they have more than maybe he thought with Green at the helm. Boudreau otoh showed us what the team can be. He's not going to negotiate against himself in the media re: player value. So of course he's going to talk about guys in a positive way. The only way Miller stays is if he's OK with something team friendly. I hope he does, but I know thats probably a long shot. I did like hearing his comments on Bo, and talking to him about growing as a leader (at least thats what I read into it).
  19. Washington would be a mix of picks and prospects, there isn't really any roster players I can see them parting with. Who's their best defensive prospect, Iorio? doesn't seem like a great fit for a return for us.
  20. thats one of the best things about the playoffs, the improbable hero moments
  21. eep, Miller and Torts seems like a fight from day 1.
  22. I think Aqua has moved on, I just don't think Rutherford would take this job to be a yes man. He's not meddling. RE: Sedins - did they recommend Player Name?
  23. We have to get over the lost assets from the Benning years. They are gone, never to be recovered. We have what we have. So, lucky for us we have a decent core to work with. I hope its not a 3 year rebuild but we'll see.
