ugh. To me this is criminal, and really breaks the social contract. What's the point of staying and trying to have a career in that community if someone like you can't afford a basic home? It wasn't easy for my wife and I to do what we did, but at least we had a chance. It seems like your choice is to stay and live like you are now, or leave to somewhere where you can buy something. Without a partner that's a hard thing to do.

I'm going to bring in @Coconuts here - is there anything in the Nanaimo market you could swing? or is this now unattainable on one salary there?

if there's people there's drama. We just blow everything up to massive importance. OMG they removed a stripe from the practice pants

maybe not up to Cammi's standards?

I doubt JR/PA let it get to that. I suspect that mgmt will want a deal next offseason or look at options.

its pretty hard to get things done in BC with so many folks in the 'no to everything' development mindset. We can't even get our gov't to work properly with developers on all the types of new homes we need. A new refinery in BC, good luck. The only way it may happen is if its First Nations led. -
not sure we can read too much into camp yet. Last game or two maybe. imo its going to be a very hard negotiation, and how long JR/PA wait it out will be interesting.

its an awful idea, but you're right not much we can do. I'd suggest everyone stop buying any official NHL gear, but not sure how successful something like that would be or who could have the pull to start a movement like that. I hate looking at ads on jerseys, I don't enjoy the constant flood of being advertised to. Its bad enough on the boards. -
don't forget about monkeypox

So the big question for us is, does Petey... er you... price himself out of our market next offseason when he can sign a new deal? does his agent advise him to hold out and wait until he's an RFA? So much yap about Miller and Bo this last year, but maybe its Petey we need to be focusing on.

hard to say what will happen, but maybe that's a good idea? dunno its so hard to know whats really going on. Its a bit odd that all the kids don't seem to want to be near him tho, that does trouble me. OTOH my brothers 1st wife was an total psycho that accused him of all kinds of things during the divorce. I wish we had more facts to work with.

not a chance. Its where their bonus money comes from.

ah that's a good bet too.

hopefully not at the same time

yeah the penalties were a bit much. I did like the PK time practice for the team tho. If it were a regular season game I would have been annoyed but this time of year I like to see our guys get as much PK time in as possible. Look at him now, when he's the ripe old age of 25 and fully developed he's going to be a beast. I hope we can lock him in to a team friendly deal now and skip the bridge stuff with him.

yeah I don't know that he's an upgrade of Dermott in any way. I'd like to see Dermott-Myers for a few games now. Bruce did put him in a lot of situations, so that was good. He needs the time to get up to speed, if he's still making passing gaffes, etc. in the final preseason game then I'll be worried. that would be a good story. Loved what we saw from Podz and Garland tho. I think Kuzemko will be a good fit as well. I'm excited for Hoglander too, he's now got a chance to step up and show what he can do with Brock out. If Hog's can step up now, things could get very interesting on the trade front.

if its just a small pin for a finger break its no biggie, based on the time scale it seems like it would be something of that nature. Sucks for Brock tho, I'm sure the wait will be harder on him than the actual injury.

I think once Rathbone settles down a bit he'll be a lot better. He's a good skater and has a decent shot, he just needs time to adjust and calm down to make better decisions, at least that's my take. It was just split squad game 1, lets not panic on him just yet. DD looked OK but I don't see him as a guarantee.
