  1. good for him, too bad he missed out on term here but good to see him land somewhere.
  2. JT coming to us also ended up in a bust RHD pick. Its like a JT Miller trade idea was prevented from producing a RHD no matter what.
  3. he's a beauty. I'm hoping he can help Rathbone as a mentor this year.
  4. it also happened to be the path of least resistance for how the team was put together for JR/PA, barring a tear down, imo.
  5. Schenn looks like that big Labrador thats always happy to see you.
  6. Linden only embraced the idea of a tear down once it was clear the Sedin re-jig was done. That seems to get glossed over a lot in discussions around here. Its really too bad that Linden didn't start off with that idea from the outset, but no going back now.
  7. that probably coincides with our local media going very negative and the endless "insider" rumour mill crappola. The local media hasn't done itself any favours in how its dealt with the team for a long time now, I'm not surprised at all that the team is considering cutting them out. As long as the fans can access content via streaming, I don't really see the loss. Our local radio has been bad for a long time now.
  8. if we knew that with certainty, we'd be logging on to CDC from our yacht.
  9. I'm not sure, he'll be 33, but maybe someone goes full Kadri with him.
  10. free agency next year should be pretty darn interesting too. Does RoR get another big payday or does he get squeezed?
  11. I've always viewed Trudeau as more of a figurehead than a deep thinker driving policy. One thing I do like about JT is he's smart enough to know he needs to delegate, which he's done pretty well with Freeland and others. He did poop the bed on Monseif and JW-R but we ran two elections on those issues.
  12. I would guess we could have got him offering term, but clearly he's betting on a bigger payday next season. Good for him. Not sure why it took so long for him to land a deal tho?
  13. he can skate and shoot hard, he broke Bo's foot last season.
  14. I suppose, feels a bit like the Hischier captaincy to me, but maybe he's ready. Seems like unnecessary pressure to me, but then again they aren't expected to win many games so I guess he can grow into it?
  15. Harper hasn't gone anywhere. He's been the driving force behind the string of horrible leaders losing to Trudeau since he left.
  16. would have been a 'nice to have' piece for us but we need another RHD more. C'mon Stralman, grab that PTO and run.
  17. picking captions too young is goofy, imo. Gallagher was the clear choice but I guess it signals the youth movement?
  18. we're also not where we were just a short time ago with historically low rates, you could lock in for 10 years at 2% for a while there. Thats now gone.
  19. with Linden at the helm I think the fanbase would have supported a tank. Just my 2 cents.
  20. they could have stayed for it. Its not like the experience would have been much different.
  21. fits the F'Lames mo? obnoxious and willing to pander to faux cowboys?
