  1. I don't think he destroyed it yet, but I'm not sure its not going to be the influence machine he'd hoped. Its really backfired on him badly to this point. the mid-terms were very significant, it really does signal a few exciting things for the US (and the rest of us to some degree). If it really signals that the GOP is really ready to dump Trump and the whole election denier crap, thats awesome news for stability in the US which is something the world needs. Critical thinking... well, maybe we need to put a bit more of that back into the school curriculum.
  2. I think the Miller deal in part was about trying to retain some value. I think he's still movable to the right team if it comes to it, and I don't believe we had any good offers for him. Who's the high priced bottom 6 you're talking about?
  3. until players are locked down tho its all speculation. If Petey signs a long term extension next season then maybe we can think about the Hughes-Petey major retool. We really can't think about it until then, imo.
  4. there's what we should/should have done and there's what we actually have. What I don't understand is, they clearly chose the run with this group tack. But they didn't improve the right side d, and they are diddling Bo around. It doesn't make sense.
  5. we could have moved or not signed Brock, and made deals like Rathbone and a 2nd for Marino, instead of a 2nd to dump 'ol Dickie. I wonder if its analysis paralysis in our new front office? The issue I see with trying to do a 2-3 year step back now is it no longer times out with Petey and Demko. Both can walk by the time that plan is ready. Thats why I still see this as binary. Set this current group up for success by adding two legit RHD, or blow this mo-fo up.
  6. the full or near-full tear down idea has to be accompanied by a solid plan to turn things around quickly. We should have the Uber-management group to pull something like that off. Or we can just sign Bo, write this year off and go at it again next season when some cap opens up. Hopefully a smaller deal to move cap like Boeser and/or Myers is in the cards too. Just do one or the other, this limbo thing is getting very hard to watch. Rutherford needs to poop or get off the pot on a clear direction.
  7. can you name another way to get elite talent, tho? I guess now we can hope to jump 10 spots in the lotto, along with a tank.
  8. its kind of splitting hairs tho, I mean Buffalo and AZ are essentially full tear downs for a long stretch. I mean how much worse can teams get?
  9. thats true. Outside of that one, the Sedins have the best point-per-brother stat. Its really neat to have been able to watch these guys right from the draft to now.
  10. So my running theory has been Elon bought the tweety to have political influence with the right. The biggest disaster imo isn't all these tweet messes, its that his power grab hit the crapper with the GOP doing so poorly in the mid-terms. If this really was about politics, thats now in the toilet too.
  11. so again, is this being coached out of them? I can't see Podz being a shy to hit if left to him.
  12. no, the latest deal was worse, there's a longer track record. McCan't is over hyped on here. He's basically been Pearson.
  13. sure seems like it. Time for Ian Clark to earn his bucks and get Demko functioning again.
  14. different situation tho, that was his first team, had a big nice house, etc. Here he's stepped into a situation that may have turned out to not be great for him or what he thought it would be.
  15. OEL may be very happy to get out of this tire fire. CBJ has loaded up, getting OEL from us helps to solidify their team. Don't forget, this is the GM that gave 30 year old Gudbranson 4 mil x 4 years.
  16. what about something like Voracek for OEL? CBJ gets a top 4 LHD that they need, we get out of the OEL deal 3 years earlier than planned?
  17. OEL would be a better fit but I can't see them taking that contact. Maybe Rathbone?
  18. how could he not? he seems like really good person, this has to be pretty hard on him.
  19. every player can get nick picked to death. If someone thinks Miller isn't a good player they don't have any credibility, imo.
  20. they're still pouting that Rutherford didn't do what they wanted.
  21. who knows, maybe the Aquilini's will surprise us. Or maybe Luigi says fanculo to a rebuild.
  22. damn that is interesting then. We could do Kappo for Miller 1/2 retained. NYR might have to go with 13 F's but thats an easy cap complaint trade. I don't think we can expect a big haul, but maybe something like this.
  23. maybe the family is trying to win while Luigi is still around?
