Fill-in the blanks: Motte is to Schaller as ________ is to ________
-
NJ put Domingue on waivers this am. Now that is curious.
-
'tis the season for BS. Otherwise known as trade deadline week. Its like April fools, just more annoying.
-
So when do we see the Doughty to TO blockbuster go down? LA is cleaning house.

agree with @King Heffy
no way LA deals Doughty for anyone but Mitch or Mathews.
It is the Leafs though..they could always throw in 5 1st rounders
-
Have we ever seen so many injuries to star players at one time before? #bubblewrapPetey

If you're at the game tomorrow, dont boo Kesler, if for no other reason than to show respect for the Sedins.

@Shift-4 that'd be something... "#17 Ryan Kesler!!!" (stands are empty)
***next guy announced*** everyone comes back and resumes cheering
Stay classy Vancouver.

@Nuxfanabroad let's Luuu him lol

I'm hoping to see Schaller on waivers.
Zero pushback. And he has by far the worst goals against with the Schiller-Beagle-Sutter line. Its not even close (https://www.naturalstattrick.com/linestats.php?fromseason=20192020&thruseason=20192020&stype=2&sit=5v5&score=all&rate=n&team=VAN&vteam=ALL&view=wowy&loc=B&gpfilt=none&fd=2019-10-02&td=2020-04-04&tgp=2000&strict=incl&p1=8477213&p2=8474291&p3=8474091&p4=0&p5=0)
Useless &^@#ing plug, brings nothing and costs goals.
Whew. OK there's my anger from last night all out.

Gaudette and Boeser are a poor fit. Prove me wrong.

Both of these players are young and finding chemistry with certain players takes awhile,Brock is a shooter and if he gets the puck at the right time could be very effective.
Adam G. is also a shooter, but as a center has to be looking to pass the puck but if players aren't finding open spaces why take a chance of giving up the puck. His wingers need to be open so Adam can dish the puck at the right time for a good chance on net.
As a third line center Adam has come along way and will continue to grow chemistry and the smarts to use his wingers more,a little confidence can go a long way.

1st time since 1967 a team has had 3 years in a row of rookies in the ASG. Well done Mr. Benning.

-88... is that the current temperature on Mars or the Red Wings +/-?

@Pears amazingly, not even close.
The 1974-75 Capitals scored 181 goals and had 446 goals scored against them for a team +/- of -265.

Can a line shuffle be as good as a trade?
Top line Jake, Lazarus Loui, Gaudette-Boeser? can this really produce 3 legit scoring lines? no TDL moves needed?

No, I don't believe a line shuffle is as good as a trade if you're actually getting a better piece.
However, when a rock star prospect gets added at the end of the season; that is better than a trade.
Pod could be that next season.
Could have a few guys breaking the door down next season actually.
Rambling here, but if Tree comes back at the end of the season he'll be great on the bottom pairing with Myers or Stech. Would be nice if he's top 4 capable, but it looks like he hasn't really developed offensively in the KHL. Maybe his D game has improved though. I dunno
Side note, in checking his stats on elite prospects, there's a "rumour" transaction notice posted today ....
-
True, Lazarus Loui has been quite the revelation on the 2nd line, both in terms of not being a liability anymore and actually contributing and gelling with his line-mates. Jake and Brock also appear interchangeable which can only be beneficial for depth.
Makes me wonder if we should still try to fix the 4th line though? I know we have a couple of the better guys (Beagle was the 4th line center for a Cup winning team, Motte has also shown good energy and Sutter is serviceable) but we could use a cohesive grind line that doesn't get buried. If we could find a guy who could be part of a unit which could lug the puck up ice, play physically, kill time, fore-check and score some (and hopefully we can shed cap along the way) then I think we could go quite far with this kind of top-12.

hey are you still looking at electric vehicles? I've narrowed my search down to two - the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV or the Toyota Rav4 PHEV. Waiting to test drive the Toyota which is supposed to be available this spring. These two are the best value I've found. Not full electric but close enough for now.
-
I'm really happy that we all us fans got Hughes into the ASG and didn't choose apathy. Good on you folks.

Cool story about Petey on SN today.

I wonder if we'll be asked to take a whale off our jersey before Chicago has to change theirs?

I dreamed last night that a group of orca's in a pool got mad and attacked their trainers.

last year 90 pts got you into the playoffs in the west. We're currently on pace for 92.

@Where's Wellwood Deadline for RFA signings. If they don't sign by 5pm, they're ineligible to play in the NHL this season.
