yeah but the buzz was COL was going to take him as part of a trade. Now that seems kaput. CS is also still really bad. But I guess that helps the tank.

no way LA deals Doughty for anyone but Mitch or Mathews.

  7. I'm hoping to see Schaller on waivers.

Zero pushback. And he has by far the worst goals against with the Schiller-Beagle-Sutter line. Its not even close (https://www.naturalstattrick.com/linestats.php?fromseason=20192020&thruseason=20192020&stype=2&sit=5v5&score=all&rate=n&team=VAN&vteam=ALL&view=wowy&loc=B&gpfilt=none&fd=2019-10-02&td=2020-04-04&tgp=2000&strict=incl&p1=8477213&p2=8474291&p3=8474091&p4=0&p5=0)

Just a reminder that Gallant is a players’ coach.  We have Petey and Huggy, who are clearly phenoms.  They deserve a prick coach, who will demand the rest of the team play the right way.

Gaudette just likes to keep the puck, not once did he pass to Boeser last night, Boeser is a great player who deserves better players to play with.

    3. DADDYROCK

      DADDYROCK

Both of these players are young and finding chemistry with certain players takes awhile,Brock is a shooter and if he gets the puck at the right time could be very effective.

Adam G. is also a shooter, but as a center has to be looking to pass the puck but if players aren't finding open spaces why take a chance of giving up the puck. His wingers need to be open so Adam can dish the puck at the right time for a good chance on net.

As a third line center Adam has come along way and will continue to grow chemistry and the smarts to use his wingers more,a little confidence can go a long way.

well we all know every team needs to be represented

and the older players on the team do not warrant consideration

so we are left with high level rookies

says as much about our lack of elite veteran talent

but at least we have quality youngsters

      bodes well for the future

  12. Can a line shuffle be as good as a trade?

Top line Jake, Lazarus Loui, Gaudette-Boeser? can this really produce 3 legit scoring lines? no TDL moves needed?

    2. luckylager

      luckylager

No, I don't believe a line shuffle is as good as a trade if you're actually getting a better piece.

However, when a rock star prospect gets added at the end of the season; that is better than a trade.

Pod could be that next season.

Could have a few guys breaking the door down next season actually.

Rambling here, but if Tree comes back at the end of the season he'll be great on the bottom pairing with Myers or Stech. Would be nice if he's top 4 capable, but it looks like he hasn't really developed offensively in the KHL. Maybe his D game has improved though. I dunno

Side note, in checking his stats on elite prospects, there's a "rumour" transaction notice posted today ....

    3. Phil_314

      Phil_314

True, Lazarus Loui has been quite the revelation on the 2nd line, both in terms of not being a liability anymore and actually contributing and gelling with his line-mates.  Jake and Brock also appear interchangeable which can only be beneficial for depth.

Makes me wonder if we should still try to fix the 4th line though?  I know we have a couple of the better guys (Beagle was the 4th line center for a Cup winning team, Motte has also shown good energy and Sutter is serviceable) but we could use a cohesive grind line that doesn't get buried.  If we could find a guy who could be part of a unit which could lug the puck up ice, play physically, kill time, fore-check and score some (and hopefully we can shed cap along the way) then I think we could go quite far with this kind of top-12.

  13. hey are you still looking at electric vehicles? I've narrowed my search down to two - the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV or the Toyota Rav4 PHEV. Waiting to test drive the Toyota which is supposed to be available this spring. These two are the best value I've found. Not full electric but close enough for now.
