Agreed......however, this pandemic has shone a light on some real ugly ignorance in our society.  I honestly never thought there would be this kind of resistance to a pandemic.  Thank God it wasn't a more serious virus or we'd be done for

The fact its not that deadly is why there is so much resistance lol

Remember all the toilet paper hoarding lol.

    Society isn't very smart.

If it was more serious everyone would take it seriously

I'm as far on the opposite end of the Canucks management debate spectrum as @AbrasiveAjax and I'm agreeing with him.

Aside from the fact that the guy 'reporting' on Dr. Henry sounds like he inhaled a bit too much helium, this guy clearly has an agenda with all his youtube videos being focused on on anti-bonnie henry./covid lockdown coverage. Even that youtube video showed her just sitting with a coffee by her side (you can take your mask off to drink) and then splices in pictures and videos without any context.

The 'news source' is a divisive hack.

In any case, I'm fine with us cancelling the rest of our games if it turns out to be worse than we thought (Dhaliwal saying possibly 19+ players and staff). Our player's and staff health should come first and it sounds pretty serious. If we need to play games then maybe call up the AHL squad.

I don't even know what video you're talking about

The viral posts all over Twitter and fb are pictures.

I don't go on YouTube much

She had a drink beside her...you can remove your mask to drink...it's messy not to do so.  Social distance was in action and that's more important than masks.

She was working from what is also being spread.

Don't buy into viral stuff....the word, itself, is a clue.

This is just one small tip of the iceberg. Government officials are always corrupt liars.

Trudeau probably travelled to the family cottage. Meanwhile on the news they say things like oh bc ferries is shutting down cause people clearly aren't getting the message.

There is 2 sets of rules.

Christ I hope that was in jest

Its all over Facebook Twitter etc.

I know everything u see online needs to be taken with a grain of salt but when it goes viral like that from so many different sources its real.

She was in public maskless going against her orders. Do as I say not as I do.

I personally don't care what she was doing.. I'm going to visit my family and I try to wear a mask as little as possible but shes a hypocrite.

Lol I can't stand that orange hair buffoon.

You know its possible to critically think and call these people out on their bull without being a Trump supporter.

Bankruptcy Bonnie is just a figure head on tv and doesn't give a rats about any of us but keep drinking the delusional kook aid

I have not been logged on here for some time due to various reasons, but your post made me want to jump back on and say Bravo!  As someone who lives in Texas (flame away a holes) and who recently relaxed our Covid protocols while allowing local business owners to maintain their ways of life (to include many others employed by said owners), our numbers have actually reduced.  I am not sure what the hell is going on with the West coast (I do actually know as a Californian with a ton of family from BC down to Cali), but I will say a lot of my friends businesses have suffered causing some of them to move to states where restrictions are not so aggressive. I am not a Republican or political by any means so anyone wanting to cite "Trump" for my leanings can kiss my arse. I personally think this is another case where we are allowing BIG government (whether in Canada or US) to control us and instill fear. I am also curious to know why flu shots are not really a concern anymore because it seems to have mysteriously turned into Covid. I have travelled numerous times in the past year via plane/automobile and while I have been tested once due to "potential" symptoms, I have not had any issues at all.  Nor has my Fiancé who lives with me and has done the same, if not more travel than me.  I do not doubt the validity of the virus, but I do doubt the ACTUAL numbers being submitted as Covid related deaths when it has been proven that many are completely unrelated (at least down here in the states). We only live one life and I refuse to live it in fear because of propaganda. Anyhoo, I will sit and wait for the other side to flame me while I do not give a sh!t.

Preach buddy! These restrictions aren't changing a thing. Just gotta let nature (covid) run its course and be personally diligent.

I hate the liberal culture here. Too many protests. Too many sheep. Too many vegans :gocan: and the borderline socialist government loves it

  7. Unrelated to the Canucks but did any of you see those pictures of Bonnie heading out to visit family on a helicopter no mask on right after she told everyone don't visit your friends and family over the long weekend. Do as I say not as I do.

Meanwhile she is killing small business restaurants but wineries like the one she owns can still operate with customers inside.

This government has got to go.

The bc libs would have handled this better im sure, or a conservative party if there was an option.

Seriously, Sportsnet? How tone deaf is this? The &^@#ing Raptors historic win is a bigger story than the Canucks' situation, which is followed closely by the Blue Jays news.

To be fair it is sports net not covid net.

    You're grasping

These are young athletes in the prime of their lives and top physical shape. They will be fine.

Man games are lost due to sickness every season. And many teams have had covid outbreaks this season and all have recovered

I am starting to really hate this media and government. So many scare tactics with their stats. Yes, there is no denying this Covid will take those elderly/vulnerable  more so than a typical flu but once the vulnerable are vaccinated,  things should open up completely.

You can guarantee that the stats of folks dying of heart disease and other illnesses have gone down because they have been replaced by “Covid”. A play with stats to fit the government’s narrative.

This bone head Boney flipped flopped and made policies that were hypocritical from the start. It never should have been this prevalent if she and the government did what needed to be done from the beginning. She first said no to masks,  saying they were ineffective and would cause it to spread more! I can’t believe they just implemented the schools to be mandatory just a couple months ago! Schools, where kids would be obvious super spreaders to other families. Then there was the border issue where they allowed inter provincial travel from provinces that had 10 times out cases and we had barely any.

Also this ridiculously slow vaccination roll out is frustrating to watch. Total incompetence.

    100%.

I have a friend who's grandma had terminal cancer and was on an assisted suicide list living in palliative care and she passed away last year. But months before she passed she contracted covid and they deemed her life a covid death.

    The numbers are skewed

They can't even keep the players safe.

    All the players are safe

The league is just being extra careful and vigilant

I bet if they allowed social distanced fans it wouldn't affect the numbers.

The restrictions are a joke and make no sense. Cactus club is packing people in on the patio where its no different than eating inside.

Funny enough, wineries are exempt from the restriction ban and Bonnie owns one...

This government has got to go. Covid has highlighted that for sure

Name 1 GM in the history of sports that's drafted his team the rookie of the year or the runner up 3 years in a row. I'll wait...

    (calder in this case)

23rd overall, 5th overall, 7th overall... this is not a video game. You should respect his vision and trust his process.

I'm begging you Canucks nation, stay positive and trust Jim's process. I had many doubts in him, you can go back to his first 5 years... I often questioned him and said he should be fired on these forums... but he's made amends and I'm confident that he is the man that will bring us our rightful cup.

    Long live Lord Benning!

Edit: fixed... Rookie of the year or runner up without a single top 3 pick. No other GM has done this in all sports.

Dude look at all the dead cap. Being a gm is more than just drafting, hes terrible with asset management and contracts and cap management.

    The bad outweighs the good.

    Fire Benning.

Yes, they make us look good and are also tied with us for longest in the league without ever winning a cup, get rid of them and it’s all us, and if by chance the Leafs win a cup we’ll solely hold all the records of failure.

At least we have a better overall playoff record than them.

Mind you that just means we have endured more suffering. 3 finals and 2 game 7's.
