      I think Frank Miller said something like that’s what makes Batman such a great character.  Each writer can have his or her own vision of the hero.  It doesn’t have to be always ‘The Dark Knight’ and it still “works”.

      I remember seeing the movie Night Shift and later finding out Michael Keaton was signed to play Batman.  I thought to my myself....wtf???

       

       

      He managed to pull off the role (Batman) quite nicely.
