  1. It was speculation but listening to Friedman it sounds like there is some minor concern there of that 2024 pick being unprotected. Sounds like they just want to make sure they don’t jump up 10 or 11 spots for Bedard (Don’t know if the new rules is 10 or 11) in the draft that’s all. So two top 12 picks this year is still a real potential.
  2. Is there a deadline as to when we know if they will waive the pick or not? Besides Abby, these are the only things I look forward to for the remainder of the szn.
  3. It’s not a bad throw in. A middle 6 guy who will get a bigger opportunity once Boeser, Garland get moved. A 1st, prospect and middle 6 player is what a lot of people were expecting in Horvat trade talk thread. We got it, with the chance to have a 13-16 1st round pick, I was expecting 25-30.
  4. So Isles can waive the protected pick. Good. Looks like they want to play it safe in case they are in the Bedard odds, as you can jump up 10 spots in the draft. So if they draft 10th they might waive, over concern of there unprotected 2024 pick.
  5. What package would you be looking at from LA? Grans, Turcotte, 1st, Faber, Durzi?
  6. True, LA does have a lot of pieces. I hope teams are actually interested.
  7. I guess, but I wouldn’t be interested in moving him in the division at least. Unless LA wants to offer a monster offer.
  8. Sabres, Kings, Pens interested? If we are moving him would rather move him East.
  9. Management groups don't care about all-star games. Business is business. They didn't trade him during all-star break, so I don't see the problem. But to each their own.
  10. That would knock out the center question marks at 2C and 3C. The biggest concern is RHD now, they have to get real creative there. No idea how they pull it off, but I'll try to be optimistic about it.
  11. I hope not, that would be a mistake. I doubt the Rages give up on Laf for the 13th pick or later, if they didn't give him up for Bo. They can always sign a RHD and still draft and develop. Still have to look towards the future, regardless of when you want to compete. In this draft, never know who will fall. Wish the season ended today . Excited for the future though.
  12. He would probably be back in the 1st round in a re-draft? Our 2C and 3C will be determined by the end of the draft, I assume. Unless we get Michkov, there is no way Canucks don't pick one of the centres. We are going to have 3 good centres, and two of them are defensive minded (Petey and Ratty)
  13. Sounds like some people were expecting Shane Wright, Matty Beniers and an unprotected lotto 1st round pick.
  14. And he will get a huge opportunity here in Van. Garland and Boeser are on there way out as well from the sounds of it.
  15. I think a 3C behind Pettersson and Smith will be the most realistic outcome. Pettersson, Smith, Raty that sounds like 3 solid centres, 2 of them with strong defensive minded games.
  16. Horvat Boeser Virtanen Juolevi Demko There was a time where I thought this was going to be our core 5 lol.
  17. Bains and Kilmovich have been pretty good, considering they’re on the 4th line. Abby looks deep. Going to be fun.
  18. So a younger version of Bo with a stronger defensive game. On top of that we get a 1st. Nice.
  19. The Horvat trade was a start, but the key is how he changes the defensive core.
  20. It sounds like they want to keep Bo. Like you said would be a real bad look. I think they also believe Bo is an elite 2-way player, had a feeling an Eastern conference team would fall for this
